The large car park here is only a short walk through a wooded path and alongside a Beck. The village is very pretty and of course the home of Matthew son's Car Auctions,of Bangers and Cash fame.
Very reasonably priced carpark that accepts cash, or you can use the PayByPhone app. Lots of spaces and very close to the village centre. Lovely walk up to St Hilda's church, but make sure it hasn't been raining before or it gets very boggy by the stream. You can go into the church and there are plenty of information boards explaining the history. On the walk, you can also find the local farmers' honesty box for fresh hen and duck eggs.
We just parked here for ease even though probably could have found a free place to park in the village as it was not busy. Considering itβs rural the charges a wee bit high. About a 10minutes stroll to the village centre and also a walk round the duck pond if you want. Toilets available free of charge near the village side. Pay at meter with contactless and card reader available.
Not badly priced x you walk through to a lovely park before entering the village x
Good place to park when visiting the village as it takes the cars off the road to make more space. The village is an exceptional place and well worth a visit π. We did a walk πΆββοΈ today out of the village towards Ellenburn on a back road so no traffic π which takes you out to Lower Dalby forest, part of the North Yorkshire National Park. π
