The Alders

Having recently spent a wonderful weekend at The Alders Caravan Park in my micro camper, joining my family, I can unequivocally say this site is a true gem. From the moment I arrived, the experience was exemplary. The greeting at reception was incredibly friendly and efficient, providing all the necessary information with a welcoming smile. What really stood out was being personally escorted to my pitch by a lovely gentleman – a touch of service rarely seen and much appreciated. When I queried the parking, I was reassuringly told, "this site isn't one of those," simply needing to park in front of my pitch number, which perfectly set the relaxed tone for our stay. The site itself is simply spotless, with meticulously maintained grounds. The pitches are generously spaced, offering a fantastic sense of privacy that truly makes you feel at ease, never on top of your neighbours. The toilet blocks echoed this standard, impeccably clean and equipped with every amenity you could need. The surroundings are stunningly beautiful, contributing to the quiet and friendly atmosphere that permeates the park. We particularly enjoyed visiting the local cricket pitch to watch a game with a refreshing drink, feeling completely welcomed by the community. We will absolutely, without a doubt, be back to The Alders.

We spent 3 nights nights on the Alders with our 3 great grandchildren, & we absolutely loved it, very clean site, lovely friendly staff & so helpful. Our grandkids aged 9, 7, & 5 wanted to stay longer they loved it that much, sad to leave, but having stayed here twice before, we'll definitely stay again. They loved the chickens. 🤣🤣Thank You.💜

We had a lovely short break at The Alders. The campsite is in a peaceful area, so it's ideal if you want a quiet break away. The night sky is beautiful when it gets dark; you see plenty of stars. We stayed in one of the pods, which was equipped with a lamp and electric heater. You have to bring all your other camping equipment e.g. airbeds & bedding. It was perfect for us + a fair bit warmer than a tent! The toilet blocks are modern and kept very clean. Each shower cubicle is private & completely separate from others. They were easy to use and generous with space. There are facilities to do your washing and ironing with a small charge, although we never tried these. The campsite in general is kept clean and tidy. All staff we encountered were very friendly & helpful, from arrival up until check out. There's a small cafe next to reception. We ate there a couple of times and enjoyed the food. All in all, we would recommend this campsite to anyone wanting a peaceful trip away.

Stayed 2 nights here at this lovely site. The grounds are really well kept and all staff are so helpful. Made use of the cafe at the front of the site and were lucky enough to enjoy a local game of cricket. Toilet and shower facilities were clean throughout our stay. Bus stop is very close, easily within walking distance. Would absolutely recommend this site 👍🏻

We staying in our own caravan and had a lovely view from our pitch. Facilities are very clean. Only 20 minutes drive from York. Will definitely stay again. Be aware of Google sat nav directions as we ended up a dead end as it was telling us to turn left too soon and was tricky to reverse. Stay on the main road and take next turning which is sign posted for the site. Good food and friendly staff at then local restaurant in Alnes.
