An attractive stone bridge over the River Wharfe, erected in 18884 to replace an earlier bridge destroyed by flooding. The local car park is well-maintained, but expensive, so we parked on the roadside.

Burnsall is not too far from Barden Tower Castle and the beautiful Bolton Abbey. All are within a few miles of each other. You can walk from Bolton Abbey to Burnsall just by following the River Aire. From Burnsall you can walk to Hebden. The Abbey, Barden Tower and Burnsall are all well worth a visit.

Would have been 5 stars if it wasn't for the many individuals turning up with the entire kitchen encroaching on others space. We had to move because then there was 2 toilets on the river bank, 2 girls with their mum. Parking is cheaper on the car park infront of the cafe. Β£3 - 3 hours, Β£6 - 8 hours Β£10 in the carpark the other side of the bridge. Cafe wasn't too badly priced, Β£5.90 for a bacon butty. Maybe slightly high but better than other places. My only gripe is the charges to come here. Somebody must be raking it in πŸ˜‚
