Catterick Racecourse Sport & Leisure in Catterick Bridge, Yorkshire

Catterick’s 27 race meetings per year put it second only to Doncaster in the quantity of races hosted, but there’s plenty of quality too!

One of just three courses in Yorkshire to offer both Flat and National Hunt racing, Catterick hosts meetings every month, and gets things underway as early as possible with the very first jumps gathering of the year on New Year’s Day.

You will find Catterick Racecourse (since 1783) in the hamlet of Catterick Bridge close to the Catterick Garrison, the worlds’ largest British Army barracks, and home to around 12000 soldiers. The racecourse has easy access from the A1 and offers free parking to all racegoers.

After kicking things off in style on January 1st, Catterick continues with 6 more National Hunt meetings until March. In April the flat racing season gets into swing, with 17 meetings running right through until the end of October. In November it’s back to the fences again. And it never stops!

Racegoers can enjoy the racing from a choice of two enclosures at the course. The Grandstand and Paddock Enclosure allows racegoers access to all of the main racecourse facilities, including the Parade Ring and Winners’ Enclosure as well as offering excellent views of the Flat and National Hunt racecourse from either of the two-tiered grandstands. Alternatively, you can choose to watch all the action from the heart of the track within the Course Enclosure.

The racecourse has a number of food and drink outlets to suit every racegoer; from formal dining in the Winning Streak Restaurant to a lighter bite in the Furlongs self-service cafeteria, or hot and cold snacks from the bars.
