Thirsk Racecourse Sport & Leisure in Thirsk, Yorkshire

Situated in the wonderful old cobbled market town of Thirsk, North Yorkshire, Thirsk Racecourse is a beautiful and picturesque course hosting 16 days of flat racing between April and September.

Thirsk is easily reached by road, rail or air! Located to the west of the town in between Carlton Miniott and the Town Centre on the A61 Thirsk/Ripon road, and also just 10 minutes from the A1. Thirsk station is located ½ mile from the racecourse, and a free raceday shuttle bus operates between the station and racecourse for 2 hours before the first race, then for one hour after the last race. Light aircrafts and helicopters can land at Bagby which is just 4 miles from the racecourse.

We have two different enclosures, the Premier Enclosure and the Grandstand Paddock and Picnic. Each of these enclosures have access up to the Parade Ring, however the Premier enclosure has a larger selection of bars. We also operate a Family ticket which admits two adults and unlimited children into the Grandstand Paddock and Picnic enclosure for just £20!

There are plenty of different restaurants to choose from if you are looking for something a bit more spoiling. From the renowned Thomas Lord Dine & View three course luncheon with arguably the best views of the racecourse, all the way through to something a little lighter with the Mad Hatters Afternoon Tea. Alternatively we have a number of different food and drink outlets for all racegoers situated around the bandstand.

For Private Suites and Corporate Hospitality we have options of private boxes or private chalet marquees and can cater for all dietary needs and party sizes.
