Venus Campsite

We have just had a lovely long weekend at venus campsite. It is beautifully well kept excellent hard standing pitch fully serviced and the grass pitches are well kept. The toilets and showers are very clean and one of the owners came over to make sure we was ok and if we had any questions. Lovely experience and adults only site makes it a lovely quite weekend away with it being located so close to some lovely parts of the country with harrogate not far and ripon also the dales. We will definitely go back.

Our first time here with a motor home. GATE SECURITY you’ll get a gate pass code before arrival. The gate is kept locked at all times 10-10 PITCHES We stayed in a hard standing pitch which was flat the pitch had brown water waste,fresh water with a good length of hose and of course hook up. 10-10 SITE FACILITIES Hot showers clean toilets pot washing black waste point ample recycling 10-10 We are new to motorhoming and found this site to be very well equipped. We arrived during storm Amy with horizontal rain yet Sarah the site owner was walking round raincoat and wellies checking everyone was ok, we gave her the thumbs up and off she went. We plan to return June 2026 for another trip and may try a grass pitch and hopefully better weather to BBQ.

Absolutely loved this campsite, Sarah came to greet us, the campsite has huge pitches, so you have your own area, the campsite is spotless with basic amenities, which is all that I needed, nice dog walk,a few benches dotted around the field. There's nice walks close to the campsite. There's also a bus that takes you to Ripon, you can catch it in the village,at the Smithy, only on a Monday and Thursday. Had a great 4 night break here at Venus. Massive pitches, lovely and quiet. Basic but clean toilets and showers. Even over a busy bank holiday didn’t have any queues. Most sites would have pitches half the size and double the number of units but it’s so nice not being crammed in and feeling like you have some privacy. Excellent value for money. The only downsides are the village shop has closed down and no local pub but that’s not the end of the world. Also nice walk with dog in the local fields. Turn right out the campsite the first small road to the right after the owners house. Down a single track road takes you close the the main road but it’s all securely fenced. Does a loop round into the village then back to the Site and it’s signposted.

Had 2 nights here in our new caravan. Nice peaceful site. Close to Thirsk and Ripon.when we arrived met by owner showed us to our pitch very helpful. Adults only. Only down side people letting there dogs run around site.
