Halifax

I called in to the Barnsley branch of Halifax yesterday while visiting the town, I wanted some help & advice on renewing my ISA & savings accounts, I got excellent service from Abbie who took the time to listen to me and quickly sorted out my accounts, much better service than my local branch in Pontefract where the staff are so unhelpful.

Whenever I've been the staff of the counters have been helpful and patient and really taken the time to get issues resolved. The service has been five star but there are a few issues. The obvious one is the queues which are a real problem, there always seems to be an IT problem with at least one of the counter terminals (which doesn't help with the queues) and there's a pretty much total lack of privacy at the counters.

Queued for half an hour to pay money into my husbands account at the counter ,as paying in machine out of order as were two at the counter, also had some coins to pay in ,only to be told I couldn't pay money into someone else's account ,when I questioned why ,I was abruptly told VERY loudly ,I could be laundering money. left to feel upset , shown up ,&mad.Thinking about cancelling our accounts there now,totally rude person needs to learn some manners

Not Once but Twice now within weeks a massive wait, yet staff inside who in my opinion should jump onto the counters when queue of customers waiting, last excuse from call from Manager money had arrived staff needed for that, today Computers down I was told, got fed up of waiting and walked back out. Terrible Service Halifax. 30/12 same again today, waiting on engineers, 3 girls behind counter, 1 only working,
