Great lunch at Barnsley Market! 🍱✨ We stopped by Barnsley Market and tried the bento boxes from the food court — absolutely delicious! The beef was tender, the sauce rich and flavourful, and the rice perfectly cooked. Each box came with fresh salad and a tasty side (spring rolls and aubergine – both spot on!). The market itself has a great vibe — modern, clean, and full of tempting food options from different cuisines. Perfect spot for a quick lunch with plenty of seating and a lively yet relaxed atmosphere. We’ll definitely be back for more!

First time here (day trip),and thought indoor market was good ,lots of variety of stalls,,: food/,clothes/cards/ etc. only difficulty was finding way around! Not over "disability,,/access friendly, with only 1 ramp up to another level. Outdoor Xmas Market: not as good as others been to., but general market stalls good. Would I come again,,? ? Not sure.

Limited to what you can buy, lots of individual stalls BUT a lot catering for one or more type of product only, a lot of them very specific, please have butchers selling veg as a one stop Sunday dinner stop, make my day easier, id rather not visit 25 stalls to get a full meal

Into the building of Barnsley market (Alhambra shopping centre) you should definitely visit the gorgeous shop “Reenna Jewellers”where you can find various earrings, rings, hear clips and other women’s jewelry. You can buy silver and gold goods as well. There is souvenirs ,man’s jewelry and watches in this small but full of assortment shop. I had bought earrings just for 5 pounds and heard a lots of compliments already because it looks like very expensive brand! I look forward to buy something else there on my next visit.

Remembering the huge indoor and outdoor market of my youth it could be within reason to complain over the loss of many stalls that have been there for decades. However, the new market hall still has the meat and fish market with a decent range of businesses still trading as well as the sweet stall and underwear business. On the plus side is the market kitchen with a diverse range of traditional and ethnic food, open till late and offering tasty grub. The market has new business with deli stalls and soft furnishings. It's definitely worth a visit even if its for the food. (Think of a superior Meadowhall food court). Lastly, Barnsley has the friendliest people , thankfully decent shopping and good enough parking.
