Purchased our first caravan from here sales man Johnny was fantastic super helpful. We knew what make and model we was after and they had one in stock. Viewing it we was abit concerned over issues we could see hole in cupboard doors front roll out bed not working and stuck. tape holding wardrobe draws shut as push button was damaged. Johnny wasn’t concerned and explained all would be sorted for handover as it has to go through there shop and be serviced before we get the keys and that process takes around four weeks. We opted for superguard and extended warranty with that on top of caravan totalled around £23,000 an had to paid up in full before handover we left £1500 deposit then paid the remainder in full before handover as we was asked. Handover day turned up at 9am for handover and was told needed to wait as van wasn’t ready and was just been cleaned I thought was strange as I’d paid £599 for super guard inside and out but I sat and waited 40min later van was ready I walked up and saw black lines down the front of caravan down sides on entering tried roll out bed to find the wasnt fixed and cupboard door still had hole in tape still holding wardrobes shut! I asked if super guard has been done they said it hadn’t all sempt abit rushed at the time I should have walked away from it as they had done nothing to the van in the four weeks they needed to prep it! I called down every weekend after to check if it had been super guarded as they promised it would have been done that day 5 weeks later still hadn’t been done so attempted to get a refund on it and was promised it was gonna be done that weekend I told them I was going away in it for first time and wanted it ready for dog to go in……still wasn’t done a week later 6 weeks after handover so when we got back had that money swapped onto storage. Purchased on 21-9-25 handover was 28-10-25 over three months later still waiting on problems to be sorted we had found and Yorkshire caravans had promised would be sorted called in today for an update and to try inform over more issues we’ve found leaking windows and broken wooden base spoke to someone called Richard who said no one could help over a weekend and I’d need to call up in week and let them know about the issues they knew about three months ago! Frustrated with it now and lesson learned should have walked away when it wasn’t right but they make you pay in full before handover so they already have your money. Sales man Johnny was brilliant. lady on reception is like super woman so helpful. After them expect to be ignored and left in dark with any type of after care or service work needed
I ordered and paid a deposit for a new-to-me (2017) motorhome in November 2025. During a visit to measure the vehicle, I noticed that while it had been parked in storage it appeared to have been reversed into a bank, causing damage to the cycle rack. I raised this with the salesperson, Liam, and followed up by email and telephone. I was assured the damage would be rectified prior to handover. I arranged to collect the motorhome today, Tuesday 6 January 2026, at 13:30. On arrival, I waited approximately 30 minutes in reception. This in itself was not a major concern, however I was informed the vehicle was not yet ready because the team had not been advised that the handover time had been moved earlier. When I entered the handover area, the first issue I noticed was that the cycle rack had not been repaired. I also asked whether the carpets had been cleaned, as they were still in a black plastic bag in the garage area. When the staff member conducting the handover removed them from the bag, a significant amount of sand fell onto the floor. On inspecting the interior, it was clear the mattress had not been cleaned or vacuumed and still had visible debris on it. Finally, I observed water dripping from the Omni fan in the galley area. I placed my hand into the shallow tray surrounding the fan and found ice present. I cannot confirm whether this was caused by the fan being left open in storage or whether it indicates a leak; however, given the condition of the vehicle and these issues, I rejected the motorhome and requested to speak with the General Manager. I was initially told this would not be possible because he was in an interview, but I explained I was willing to wait until he was available. I subsequently met with Carl, the General Manager, who did not make excuses and agreed to refund my monies as requested. While I appreciate the refund being agreed, I have incurred additional costs in preparation for collection (over £1,000 on accessories, arranging insurance, and associated administration) and have taken time off work. I will receive no compensation beyond the return of my original payment. This experience reflects poor preparation, quality control, and communication. In the service sector, customer service and clear communication are critical, and my impression is that your organisation may have become complacent and lost touch with what good customer service looks like. The staff at YCM are generally very nice and welcoming, my initial sales experience with Liam was very good, however the handover negatively impacted my confidence that the PDI was through and that the vehicle was in good order. What should have been a day or relative excitement collecting a shiny, new to me motorhome was ruined. Please do not take this single review as your decision to not purchase from YCM. I suspect that on this occasion they had a very bad day and I hope that this incident acts as a reset opportunity. Some type of compensation would have been very welcome and may have restored my confidence to return to them in the near future. P.S. Has anyone got a motorhome for sale? I now have all the gear and the cash in the bank :-) (AI Response below, kind of puts the nail in the coffin :-(.
We saw a caravan online and enquired about it and a part exchange on our caravan. We were offered a fair price for trade in and went to view the caravan. We found a couple of small issues (as you would expect with a second hand caravan) that were addressed promptly. We were very well looked after by Ray who was honest and helpful and very accommodating. We dropped our part exchange in the week before with no hassle or haggling. Collection day- we were made to feel special with a drinks credit for the cafe (as we were early) then ray swiftly took us through the paper work but made sure we understood it all. We were greeted by Jordan In the hand over bay, though she was initially busy with another handover it gave us chance to look around the van. It was cleaned to a high standard and looked as good as new! Being experienced caravan owners there wasn't really much we needed to know but Jordan made sure we were happy and had all our questions answered before we were hooked up to go. We are looking foward to going away in our new to us van! Thanks Ray and Jordan for making the experience effortless and enjoyable! 5⭐️
Picked up our van today and we couldn't be more satisfied with the high level of service we have received from Yorkshire Caravans Johnny whom we dealt with was fantastic guiding us through the whole process extremely professional and approachable cant thank him enough. Dave who dealt with our handover was again very thorough and made sure we left site safe and happy with our purchase 😀 Thanks again would highly recommend
Do not use this company. My parents have just travelled 4 and a half hours from Norfolk after putting a deposit down on a van. Once arriving they were shown around a completely different van!? This is apparently normal sales techniques and they always use a "Show image". The van they were enquiring about and put A DEPOSIT ON, does not even exist. Do not trust what you are viewing on the Internet and do not use this company. Reporting to trading standards and action fraud.
