I used Morley Movers back in July 2023 and I have to say it was one of the most stressful and most unpleasant days I have ever experienced. When the Morley movers van arrived outside the house in the morning of the moving day, Paul yelled at me from the van saying I should have parked my car outside the house so that they could park their van. This made me feel embarrassed and added to the anxiety I was already feeling. Later, I explained that we had gotten rid of 3 beds, a cabinet, a wardrobe and a dressing table since the quote. Paul refused to bring the price down. He was quite abrupt and rude with his response. During the move, Paul made me feel very inadequate anxious. He complained and moaned about things not going right. I broke down in tears while they were still loading the van due to Paul’s appalling attitude. When the van was full, Paul said that they couldn’t fit a head board in and he refused to come back to put in. I explained that there would have been more furniture hadn’t I gotten rid of it myself (which he agreed to move and charged me for) but he still refused. I felt stuck, I knew I couldn’t leave anything behind as it was rented accommodation and the landlady would charge me. Paul suggested that I leave it somewhere outside. I couldn’t believe it he was telling me to break the law. On the same day I was having the kitchen floors tiled in the new home and I got a phone call from the tiler to say that they needed some wood so they can put new joists in under the floor as the existing floor was bouncy. I asked Paul if he could pick it up from B&Q and he said there would be a charge. He charged me £80 just to go for. The road and said he couldn’t do any less (still refused to factor in that there was less furniture and it had saved him an extra trip). He knew I was stuck and had no choice so he took advantage. He was making comments like “if I wasn’t here, who else would have done it for you” in a taunting tone, like he was doing me such a big favour. When we got to the new house (just two miles away) Paul continued the moaning. He said the in a very condescending tone that I shouldn’t have moved that day. I told him there was just work going on in the kitchen and we can store all kitchen stuff in the living room as there was enough space. He was insistent that I should have waited. He knew as I already explained to him that I couldn’t afford to pay for two properties any longer (builder had taken thousands from me and left the job incomplete and with additional problems) but he still was giving me a hard time. I broke down in tears again in front of my two boys. Paul was just horrible and I felt he took advantage of my vulnerable position, me being a single mum. He wasn’t just unprofessional, he was awful. I have moved 3 times in the space of 5 years and considering my sons were younger in the first two moves, the move with Morley Movers was by far the most traumatic. I would give him the benefit of doubt and say my race had nothing to do with it but who knows why he treated me the way he did. All I can say for certain is that the whole experience was a living nightmare.

Paul and co have just helped us move a second time in the last few years. His prices are very reasonable, he goes the extra mile to make sure everything is done right and nothing is damaged - friendly lot to boot. Thanks again Paul!
