Just been into post office at Beverley WH Smith’s to pay in some cash which had been donated to our recently deceased son’s fundraiser for his children, I explained that I was hoping to use Nat West but it had closed and that I was sorry it was a lot of coins and cash, the two staff who dealt with me were utterly appalling. They were terse to beyond the point of rudeness, when I explained I had travelled from Bridlington as our own Nat West had closed one of them said “congratulations “ in the most sarcastic manner, it got worse. I wasn’t aware of a limit to paying in cash as have not had to do this before but instead of just explaining in a civil manner I was subjected to scorn and clipped offhandedness. You are a disgrace to the Post Office.
I went to renew my passport and found the staff very helpful and friendly and would recommend anyone use this service that they provide.
Awful. The "proper" post office has closed down. Best we have is this franchise within WH Smith. Went in yesterday - Saturday to register my motorcycle as a historic vehicle, per DVLA website instructions. I went on Saturday as work means that's the only time I can, same as most of the working population. How do the post prepare for this influx? By having 2 staff on (only one of these dealing with general enquireys) and every other serving point closed. Genius. I queued. And queued. Finally got to the woman and explained what I wanted. She stared wordlessly at me. The pause became uncomfortable "So I was rather hoping you could help me?". She was clearly out of her depth with any task beyond selling a book of stamps. She spoke to the only other staff member there who was locked in the foreign exchange bit doing just that job and not helping with general business. He seemed to know what to do and briefed her. She sadly was still as clueless & incompetent after this convo. She decided the best plan of action would be for me to rejoin the end of the queue but go to the man when my turn next came. Nope. Post Office - sort yourselves out. Hire competent staff and have some of them at work when you know full well it's going to be busy. Customer Service!
Only one counter open despite people queuing to the door. Waited 30 minutes to be served, everybody complaining.
Fantastic staff that are efficient and friendly whilst dealing with the high volume of customers. It can get very busy at certain times but is to expected with such a small space available to operate in.
