I used the Beverley store when I ordered three rugs totalling £107 via click and collect. I did the order online at 9.30 and received confirmation from Dunelm that the rugs would be ready to collect after two hours. At 1pm Dunelm emailed to say one of the rugs were unavailable however the other two I would be able to collect once the Beverley store emailed me. Finally at 15.45 I got an email to say that I could collect one rug. I asked the store where the other rug was. They told me that both of the other rugs had been sold off the shop floor to other customers throughout the day as staff had not bothered to look for them until the afternoon. I was extremely annoyed as I had paid for them at 9.30am. Then they told me that a refund of £72 may take up to seven days with the weekend. I will never use click and collect with Dunelm again. The staff in the Beverley shop need to be much more efficient and trained better. Dunelm should not advertise to customers that after two hours items should be ready to collect. This is very misleading. They should also let customers know that by using their click and collect that it is very unlikely they will receive some if not all the items they paid for.
I took a mattress back to the store for a refund as it was faulty. The lady at the tills was lovely and helpful, and Brett was brilliant. Helped us in every way. A real asset to your team at Flemingate, Beverley store. Thank you
This Dunelm is packed full of products but is poorly laid out and it can be difficult to find things, even with the aid of the (few and far between) staff. There are some good prices and bargains to be had but it’s a very frustrating shop to navigate, especially when trying to exit. The toilets on the first floor are usually pretty clean but I don’t think that they are checked on a regular basis. This morning, Wednesday, just after 10am there was no soap in any of the dispensers. I mentioned this to a member of staff who happened to be close by - indifference to the point of rudeness. It might be the role of the cleaners to refill soap etc, but in other stores staff members have apologised, expressed concern, told me that they would pass on the information and get it sorted. The cafe on the first floor is clean and well laid out; it’s good to see that there is a Community Board with information about local group and events. Staff not particularly engaging. Coffee was okay but slight scuzz on the surface suggested that the coffee machine probably needs a good clean. I’ve visited a number of Dunelm stores and this one really ought to be better.
Shopped on the lighting department and as usual there were no staff around. Picked a spot light and searched for bulbs. I found the bulbs I needed priced at £6.00 for 2 so I picked up two packs. I then went down stairs to the till point with my intended purchases which I had calculated totalled £40. I was told that the total was £48 and when I questioned ths I was told, somewhat abruptly that the bulbs were £10 a pack and not £6 as marked on the shelf. I want to thank the staff, as because of their incompetence, I went online a bought almost identical products for £24 saving £16 THANK YOU
A very interesting departmental store. Friendly and helpful staff. All good. Makes a change from online shopping. Nice to see the quality of items. A happy customer. Thank you. 10/10
