Traditional & contemporary furniture handmade by experienced craftsmen using the finest quality English oak. Attention to detail is the hallmark of Beaver Furniture and our “Yorkshire” company refuses to compromise these cherished principles in today’s world of mass produced furniture. The family run business was established by Colin Almack in 1960. All the furniture is hand made on our on the premises at Sutton-under-Whitestone-Cliffe, near Thirsk. Our registered trademark of the carved ‘Beaver” is found on every piece of furniture. The furniture exudes quality with traditional dovetail joints, hand adzing, sand papering and polishing to give the silk-like feel to the finished wood. We have a portfolio of our own designs and offer a bespoke service for custom- designed pieces. We are committed to providing ‘outstanding’ customer service, and we take time to discuss your requirements, to ensure that the finished furniture is exactly what you want.

Visitors are welcome to come and watch the furniture being made and see the finished pieces in our workshop and showroom.

We are situated on the edge of the North Yorkshire Moors National Park, so why not combine your visit with a tour of this beautiful part of the country. Our village of Sutton –under Whitestone Cliffe has a local pub serving excellent food and there are many other attractions in easy distance. These include Castle Howard, Fountains Abbey, Duncombe Park, Newburgh Priory and Sion Hill Bird of Prey Centre. Light water Valley and Flamingo Land Theme Parks offer a full day's entertainment for children and adults alike. The ancient Roman city of York is 20 miles from us and is home to The British Railway Museum, The Yorvik Centre and York Minster. Harrogate Spa town, famous for Betty's Tearooms and Harlow Carr Gardens is also within very easy distance.
