Beautiful hidden little gem. nice to see such a unique historical landmark still around in this day and age. If you want an easy way to reach the bridge just park on creskeld lane to the east of the pin and walk by the field till you enter the Forest then there is a path that leads to your right, follow that for a short while and you should see the top of the bridge through the trees.

Bramhope tunnel is on the Harrogate line between Horsforth station and Arthington viaduct, it took four yrs to build and opened in 1849, the grade 2 Gothic style/ medieval gatehouse took the lives of 24 men during the build. please note, the north tunnel is on private land..ENTER AT OWN RISK !!!! as the sign says.

Not sure why this is listed as a museum but it’s worth a walk with the kids to see the fairly impressive tunnel. Get your timing right and you’ll see a train or two on the Leeds to Harrogate Line. It can be muddy and slippy so get some wellies on :)

Hidden but fairly easy to get to as long you are reasonably physically able. 5 mins along the bridleway. It's not worth going out of your way to see (unless you're into trains I suppose) but if you're in the area it's a nice little walk and an interesting find.

As a kid in the 80s this was our den, it wasn't bricked up then, you could walk inside the turret, down a stone spiral staircase into the main room and down further to the dark "dungeon", playing on railways lines was OK in the 80s😊 Photo is only picture I found of inside, what a picture.
