I don’t usually post reviews, but this has got to be done. I have been ordering from this restaurant for over 6 years and not once have I complained as the food was always as it should be. By no means am I saying this is the best I’ve had, but for the dishes me and my family like, they were always consistent. Today I made a big purchase for a special occasion spending about £60. This decision has left me pissed off, madder than mad and fuming with steam coming out my ears. I placed my order and then called back to add something I had missed off. When the order came. I didn’t check right away ( big mistake). I was missing the 2 chicken fried rice I had ordered instead they sent 1 chicken chow mein. I ordered a dry spare ribs but was told I didn’t, my kid wanted it so I paid for it. The shrimp in the shrimp chow mein was stale, old, inedible ( first time I’ve eaten shrimp that had the consistency of butter it melted to the touch). I mentioned this when I reported the missing fried rice. They said they would do it over. Later I got my completed order. 2 chicken fried rice, 1 ribs and 1 redone shrimp chow mein ( the same as the previous one not any better) Now I was asked to return the chicken chow mein which I did. Paid for the ribs as I wanted it. Now, im checking everything at this point and my kids mention there were no green peas in the fried rice (as was previously done) and on tasting the dishes they were saltier than usual. Not to mention, I accidentally returned my chicken wings which I paid for. I called back to explain the situation and the man on the phone who had a strong Chinese accent, wouldn’t even give me a chance to speak as he said I needed to return the other chicken chow mein. I told him I had one other plain chicken chow mein which I had originally ordered. He said I had to give him back a chicken chow mein ( which I did not have) to get back my wings. I at this point was beyond frustrated and pissed off. I said I did not have it. I proceeded to tell him since this was the way he was behaving towards a loyal longtime customer. This was my last order. He mentioned returning my money I assumed for the wings. Then he hung up on me mid conversation. I waited a few hrs to post this to see if I’d get my money back I never got my money back, no surprise. I was disappointed in the service worst I’ve ever experienced and the food matched the service. I’m not in the habit of leaving bad reviews unless the experience matches. I felt like they could care less about what I was saying and did not value my money. I will no longer order from this place. If they continue they will continue losing customers and close for good not just a refurb.
The only Chinese takeaway I will go to. I've tried others and yes it's a biased review, but personally I love it.
DONT! only 1 star hygiene rating. Foods poor. They've changed their name to avoid the bad hygiene report. Sorry I ever bought food from here now, and it was not great...edited they've just posted a leaflet thru my door, so I looked them up. The latest hygiene report was March this year and they've still only got a 2. You have to be really bad to get a 2
Seen it is a Friday and even tho times are hard now, we decided to treat ourselves to a Chinese. Ordered from this one before in past and has always been alright. It was delivered by a not "very clean" guy and the chips were all over loose in the box. The chips, are cold and don't even taste of salt and pepper. The rest of food was also cold and tasteless. Meat was definitely reheated as it was rubbery and disgusting. I called the restaurant and said that I spend £30 on cold food and wasn't happy at all. Reaction was that they would pick it up and warm it up??? And next time would put something extra in it... Well, there won't be a next time. I won't be surprised if we are hugging the toilet in turns very soon.
Giving Oriental a one star 🌟 and an opportunity to shine. We are regular customers and love the quality of food and service. Ordered Fri 16 June and order went through on Yoyo payment platform and restaurant did not confirm -- despite that my account has been debited. Found out that business closed til 28 6. Oriental how is it possible to order food and pay for it when you are not open ? Update thanks Oriental for the refund
