I went into the salon with my stepbrother and dad, we got a warm welcome and waited 10 minutes for my nails to get done. they asked me what I wanted and told me the price £35 before they started. I got asked how my day was and what shape I wanted. Me and my stepbrother were othered chocolate and water. I got the exact nails I wanted with no problems at all and only took 1 hour I highly recommended this salon

Firstly, I went in, and they sat me right down as there was only me and someone else. The person who filed down my nails and I showed the photo to was lovely, and he quoted me £30 for the set that I asked for. However, it went downhill from there. He got busy, and I was given someone else. This person drilled down my cuticles (something I've never seen before) and made me bleed on five nails, and he giggled during this whilst I told him that I was in pain. When I asked him for a tissue and a plaster, he picked up the file again and made them bleed more. This technician was also cutting his nails with the same nail clippers that he was clipping someone else's nails with, and he joked about having an infection. He also wasn't wearing gloves. I noticed after he put on the acrylic that a few of my nails were slanted, so I pointed this out, and he said it was the way my nail was shaped. The nail design that I gave him was a French tip with gold stars (the photo I showed him is on here) and the French tip was ok but the gold stars aren't gold and you can't even tell that they are stars. After he was done, he moved onto someone else and said £35 and I told him I was told £30 as I'd seen him demand more from another woman earlier. He wouldn't let me leave until I gave him £35 and the other nail technicians were too busy to notice. Would definitely not recommend going there, and I absolutely won't be going back.

Ive had my nails done twice now at this salon and I think they do a stunning job. All the staff are so friendly. My last set of acrylics lasted 2 months, then I soaked them off myself to save time.

**Edit to add: it’s been 6 days and the edges of my nails are now starting to lift due to the lack of prep of cuticles** Went to get nails done with my sisters while on holiday, and whilst I am mostly happy with the finished design of mine I want to leave an honest review about my experience: 1. We all booked for 5:30pm which we hadn’t realised they were due to close at 6pm. We arrived to find a big group of people already waiting for either walk ins or book appts and ended up waiting until around 6:15pm before the first of us could sit and be started on. 2. Unfortunately I did not see much hygiene practice at all during my (2 hour!) visit, no hand washing between customers and even no asking customers to rinse their hands at various points in the process which I’ve found to be standard practice. 3. There was barely any nail prep such as cuticle pushing or wiping and I also had to point out to the nail tech that they had forgotten to clear the acrylic underneath the nails which was hardening and bulking up. This was still not done to an amazing finish, maybe because they were rushing at this point. 4. The worst thing for me was the damage to my skin from the drill file, with them managing to tear the skin on two of my fingers (see pic for one of the scabs). The tears were small but this should not be happening at all, full stop. It made me feel uncomfortable whenever they got the drill file out. I understand using drill files aren’t great for the nails at all either, however if a salon insists on using them you would think they would be careful to not cause pain to the customer. This happened with 2 of my sisters as well. This point is worsened by the lack of hygiene and I made sure to thoroughly wash my hands after to avoid infection in the cuts. Overall the communication and politeness of the staff was fine, and the price is satisfactory, I would just advise customers to book an earlier slot to avoid waiting, to exercise good hygiene throughout and possibly request to avoid drill files altogether (all of us had some pain later in the evening on some of our nail beds which had been probably been filed too hard).

So disappointed with my experience at American nails. The tips weren’t actually stuck to my nail properly which made the nails flick up, with both the tip and my actual nail both visible (can kind of see on the pic). I also had acrylic all over my fingers which they told me to just pick off. I went back an hour later to let them know and ask for them to be sorted but the manager said they were fine and refused to give me a refund! I’ve never had such bad nails in my life and now will have to pay to get them removed and redone elsewhere. Awful nails and even worse customer service.
