Well maintained station kept looking good by volunteers. Lacks a ticket office and has limited shelter.

Lovely town. Lots of Independent cafes bars and shops train and bus station leisure centre supermarkets

Centre of the universe. The station has step free access to platform level on both platforms with direct access from carpark to platform 1. Card payment ticket machines are provided on both platforms along with shelters. As the road bridge passes above the station there is generally good protection from rain. The Commercial Railway Public House is situated around the corner and in my experience always offers a friendly welcome to rail users. I recommend Truth, Jay's, Crafty Fox, Mamil & Jeremy's if you're out for a beer or two in town. Mezze, Brooks, Jeremy's and Bellini's all do great food too.

Very pretty planters maintained by volunteers and sponsored by local shops do not disguise that this is a bare bones station, with no ticket machine or ticket shop. A major annoyance is that all the benches are away from the bridge which goes over the top of the station, which means if it's raining you can either sit down OR stay dry. I know this is meant to discourage homeless people, but it's rubbish for the rest of us as well (and frankly I wouldn't begrudge a homeless person a bench to sleep on ANYWAY).

Clean tidy railway station. No ticket office and there is only one ticket machine. Redeeming feature is a good sized free car park.
