Gemma is fantastic!! She is considerate of the human as well as helping the animal. She adapts her treatments to the dog in front of her and also makes sure the homework plan is realistic for owners to implement. She’s really friendly and easy to talk to, as well as knowledgable and skilled in her field. On a personal level, my dog started with little to no muscle on his hind legs/ hips and now is visibly chunkier and holding himself better. His gait and stance is more stable (as noticed by a friend this weekend). He started very crouched and couldn’t straighten his back legs or his back very well. He has now jumped all four paws up onto things and cocked his leg for the first time in his life, since meeting Gemma. Follow her homework and see the results!
Gemma has been seeing both of my elderly rescue dogs for well over a year on a monthly basis, and she has been absolutely wonderful to their quality of life. Both are struggling with multiple issues, as well as one being fearful of strangers and having previously bitten people who touched him. Gemma was extremely patient, and was happy to adapt her approach and take my suggestions on board so that he was able to receive his treatment despite being in a lot of pain. Her expertise is very impressive, the exercises she has given us very effective, and she's happy to discuss the why's and how's of the physiotherapy, massage and laser therapy that she offers. Both my dogs love her (which is not a given!) and are able to enjoy their walks and life thanks to her. I'm sure they would join me in saying thank you !
In our opinion Gemma is a highly skilled, physiotherapist whose clinical judgement we trust implicitly. She has treated our poodles for a number of years now, for various muscle strains, arthritic conditions, knee and hip problems. Her interventions are always gentle, yet effective. and cover a wide range of treatment options. On occasion Gemma also liaises professionally with our veterinarian. Above all we recognise her care and concern for our dogs, In return they trust her and love her visits.
My darling dog poppy was struggling with arthritis and at 12 years old we wondered if she had come to the end of her world. Thankfully our vet recommended Gemma. We gained an extra 2+ years! Brilliant! Gemma was amazing, Poppy loved her, the pain relief and improvement in her movement was unbelievable. I’m so grateful for those extra 2 years and it was worth every penny. I cant recommend highly enough. Jo xx
I asked Gemma to come out to see my boy after he had some very negative reactions to both a bridle and saddle. I informed Gemma that he had his teeth done prior to the visit and that the dentist had said there were a few sharp teeth but all was okay. Gemma found some clicking in his jaw and knew there was something else going on that was dental and she advised a 2nd opinion to check his teeth and jaw again. I arranged this and Gemma was correct, the previous dentist had over filed some teeth and not filed others. His jaw wasn't rotating properly and he needed correction work from what the previous dentist had done. I'm so pleased I asked Gemma to come to my boy, had she not then I likely would've trusted the opinion of the first dentist and would still have no idea what was wrong with my horse or why he was so bad around his face. He is having a little time to allow him to adjust and let the sensitivity of the overfilled tooth to calm down and then Gemma is going to come back out to release the tension around his poll that was created by the dental problem. Can not reccoment Gemma highly enough, she is a very friendly, professional and knowleagble woman that has really changed things for us! Thanks again Gemma x
