Pod Point Charging Station

Works, it's cheap, but it's slow. Parking is £6 for all day now. An electric evolution won't happen around here or most of the Dales because of the lack of Fast Chargers in an area where people have to travel miles to get to different places. (i.e. Petrol/Diesel is easier).

There aren't many charge points in the Dales, so this one makes getting about that little bit easier. Costs 25p/kWh and parking charges too (£4.50 all day), only a very short walk into Hawes and a bit more up to the Wensleydale creamery and a little walk up to the lesser-visited Aysgill falls. Returning back after a packed day to a fully charged car is a bonus. 2 sockets round to the right next to the charity clothing drop off, with the mini bus spots on the other side. Also some free toilets in this car park.

PodPoints are located in great places, but they really need to update these chargers! They are ridiculously slow, and they randomly stop charging while you step away to see the sights. They also need to let you pay as you go and see how much it is charging in real time.

Ridiculously slow and temperamental charging. Upgrade these chargers to fast charging ASAP and change to tap and pay stations. Podpoint app is glitchy and difficult to start charge process as well. All in all poor experience and not an easy set up. Great location, much needed service, poor experience of poor service.

Both sides of the charger working fine, cost me £1.34 for 5.7kwh but you still have to pay for parking. Thankfully someone who was leaving gave us their ticket or it would have been an expensive charge.
