Despite suffering from a power cut when we visited, the chef was still serving a reduced menu for everyone. We enjoyed our food by candlelight and the atmosphere was great. We only visit once a year so it’s nice to see the pub busy with locals and visitors alike.
Very friendly staff, couldn't do enough to help us with 2 dogs, one his first time in a pub. Excellent food will be going again thank you. Came back this year 2025, excellent service and delicious food thank you again.
Absolutely magnificent food! It was early evening the day before New Years Eve so the pub was quiet but a lovely coal fire was on in the bar so it was warm and welcoming. The food is something else! My wife had Lasagne which was seasoned to perfection and served with proper hand-cut chips and I had the delicious belly pork with some of the best black pudding I've ever tasted. I would definitely recommend it. Nice beer too. Booked back in for New Year's Day while we're in the area. Top class!!
Called in without booking and they managed to fit us in. Food was excellent and reasonably priced would certainly recommend
Been here a few times and the food has always been excellent, great value nicely presented and without a shadow of doubt the best pub food we've had, wish we lived closer but will keep visiting as we love the area
