Catterick Racecourse

Christmas at Catterick Racecourse. Curiously not one single Christmas decoration to be seen. Catterick is a small, modern course. Site and amenities are very clean, well maintained. Staff are friendly and helpful. Ample free parking. Plenty of bar options here but food choices limited, although quality is good; prices on the high side. Hot drinks available in the bars and singular cafe but only of average machine quality. Good view from the Grandstand and plenty of screens. On course commentary clear but somewhat unenthusiastic, so not much atmosphere generated.

Attended for the last flat meeting of the year. This is our 26th racecourse as a family of 3. Free racecard upon entry. Small parade ring area. A large bar and cafe area meant could see parade ring and keep warm. Its a new bar but lots of space and seating. More bars attached to the stands and terrace. We found food to be quite expensive. Great viewing of the long straight from rail and stand. You can see horses right up close as they run past. Would definately return again.

We took out 2 children aged 8 & 9 at the time to the family race day. It was a great day out and there was a small fun fair area where the children could play (free of charge). The facilities were good here and everything was accessible (parade area, betting stalls, grandstand viewing, bar, food vans). Food vans were a little expensive for the quality but the same as you usually get at this type of event. All in all a great day out topped of with a £380 win on the tote.

Love this racecourse, all so friendly, only gripe is the blue badge parking, had to park quite a distance away and the golf cart that ferries people to the gate was sat waiting on others getting out of their vehicle and only one person got in and drove past us, they were still sat in the cart when we had slowly walked to the gate.

Great track, great staff and very accommodating. Outstanding Racecourse and a great day out. New pub is very good. We attend often, probably my favorite local track and my daughter loves coming here with us as the staff are very good with her. Getting home can be a nightmare though, taxis and Ubers seem difficult to get.
