We’ve been using Paul at PH Gas for years. Always reliable and carries out work as agreed in a timely and professional manner. From water leak call-outs all the way through to boiler installs and everything in between. Would recommend.

Paul is a truly wonderful, kind and skilled workman. He has consistently helped me over the past seven years, first installing a wonderful new boiler in my retirement flat in 2018. Since then, he has not only serviced it yearly but also has provided me with other needs. These include fitting an under-sink water filter and replacing my hob when it stopped working. He is quick to respond, and his fees are always reasonable. I depend on his expertise and wish all workers were like him. I highly recommend him unreservedly.

Paul replied promptly, late in the evening and made the initial visit quickly. He assessed the job and was clear about what further work was needed to complete it, whilst also providing useful advice as to what I needed to purchase. Once I had made the purchase, he arrived a couple of days later and completed the work to a high standard with good communication. Price wise, PH Gas are competitive.

First initial meeting Paul came around for a few minutes checked over the problem needing fixing. Paul said he was busy and unable to do that day; Which wasn't a problem as he said he would be back in touch but we had to chase him few weeks later.. Next initial meeting Paul came with a guy that worked for him who stayed whilst Paul left. A hole was put in the wall without checking where the water was coming from first. When checked over in the shower it was the sealent around the shower which was causing water coming from the light switch. Therefore, if this was checked prior the hole in the wall could of been avoided. At first we didn't get a price because we didn't know what the problem was. However, when we found out the issue which was that we needed sealant around the shower. This is then when we asked Paul how much this was going to cost. Paul was unable to give us a price in person which I thought was strange due to him knowing what the issue was and we agreed on the outcome of materials. The stuff was plastic sealent around the shower and a plastic wall vent which you can buy for £1.59 form screw fix. The stuff wouldn't have even cost him £10.00. We do understand that you pay for labour and VAT... Paul tried to charge us nearly £300.00 for this work which is absolutely disgusting for the work which was done. We manged to knock him down but not a great deal by getting parents involved. Third intial meeting we agreed 08.30 for Paul and his workman to compete the work stated above but they were one hour late. I am a nurse and got up early due to be on a night shift on that evening. So I was not impressed. The work didn't take long 20 minutes if that. The longest was trying too fit my spot light back in but this wouldn't go in and they were happy to leave and accept the money. We believe due to being a young Couple he tried to over charge. We are Extremely disappointed because of this reason.. Paul seemed liked a nice guy and trust worthy that's why we waited for him to fix the issue. This is the first time as a young couple we have experienced an issue in the house. So I guess it is a lesson learnt. Overall the work completed by the guy that works for him we are happy with and they did eventually get to the route of the issue. Please make sure before using this service you get a price prior. Id never use him again or recommend him to anyone due the issues above.
