Set in a lovely location, this pub offers a clean room with complimentary body washes, shampoo, conditioner and the usual tea and coffee. Stopped here one Monday evening, found the owners very pleasant and willing to go out of there way to help. The breakfast was excellent and they even have parking disc's so you can leave your car on the roadside outside the place. All in all one of the best places I've stayed while traveling around the UK.

Warm, friendly and helpful staff. Rooms and bar a bit rough and ready, but suited my needs for a few nights stay. Good hearty breakfast, but no yoghurt selections. Would recommend a stay for solo travelling or a place to get the head down if visiting on a short stay. Area felt safe and only a 5 minute walk to town centre. Good value for money, with no real complaints.

Proper pub based B&B so you know exactly what you are getting. We had a room at the top with great views of the castle and obviously away from the bar! The room was okay and did the job for somewhere to sleep before we enjoyed a really nice breakfast. The staff weee all vert polite and helpful.

It's cheap and cheerful and perfect for our needs. Don't expect Hilton standard but you're not paying Hilton prices. Really friendly staff and a great location.

I don’t really understand all of these reviews claiming that the place is clean and comfortable. The room we were given was absolutely not as described or shown in the photos and was roughly £90 a night. These images speak for themselves. I was also told that it was baby friendly as I was taking my 7 month old but there was loud music and shouting and cussing until 2345 so she couldn’t sleep. We stayed one night and asked for a refund for the next two nights and the landlord was apologetic. Definitely more of a place to crash after a night of drinking than a family trip.
