You have been warned Bought a Ford eco sport which broke down on the motorway 1 week after purchase called CMS (Cleckheaton motor sales ) they said get it towed back to us and we will sort it after 2 weeks of no update despite calling every other day called on the Friday morning they said it is still in the yard only to have a call 5 mins later saying it's all sorted !! Picked car up from them and on the way back home the car broke down again on the same thing engine malfunction and no power went straight back where it is still there now after just other a week and it still have been seen to Asked for a refund which they Conveniently said it had gone in now Ella is just as good as a chocolate teapot James must be making a fortune as he has been on holiday for the past month DO NOT BUY FROM THESE

Bought a £4.3k car for my daughter. They lied about it; saying carpets were wet due to them washing it. Got it home; more dampness as the week progressed and found mould & electrical faults. The car leaks! Day 8 & Travelled over 100 miles to return the car as they wouldn’t communicate over the phone. Their lines ring out and they text back 1 liners (& don’t bother emailing as they ignore it) On arrival James, the boss didn’t inspect the car, continued playing with his phone, and gave us advice that wasn’t lawful or correct. He did say; it’s just a small leak and they’d fix it. But refused to acknowledge it wasn’t; we’d lost trust in the car and them & he must refund or exchange. Top and bottom of this is our credit card company are getting us the money back. If you have to buy from these people secretly record them lying to you about the car, photograph everything before you buy and after, and even though we didn’t do this; get it in writing that they will honour your consumer rights, because they haven’t got a clue. Don’t use this company.

BE AWARE AND CHECK OUT OTHER CUSTOMERS REVIEWS. I DIDN’T BUT WISH I HAD!! I bought a car last Saturday. Came to use it Monday morning and it wouldn’t start. It was making dreadful noise! Tried jump leads with no luck. After speaking to them I was told to take to my local garage and if it needed a new battery they would reimburse once fitted and if it wasn’t just battery then it needed taking back to them. I had to pay to get it towed to my local garage! Car still wouldn’t start using the garage jump pack! They did finally recover the car from my local garage the following afternoon. I tried ringing for update but goes to voicemail. The message said “send text message and they will get back to you.” No response! Their website has an email address on which to contact them. I did this ! Yes, no reply. The following day I rang again and got the same message about leaving a message! I also got a reply saying “with customer leave message and we’ll get back to you “ No call back! We drove over Friday afternoon to say we would like a refund as we need a car asap and their after care is appalling and we have lost faith in them as a company! I explained about messages and emails I’d sent with no responses. The man told me that they no longer use that email address! He also told me if I come back in morning when boss was in and I could have a full refund as ‘they are nice people’!! This we did however, the boss said he would not refund it as the car was in the garage being fixed and should be ready Tuesday and they would contact when ready for us to pick it up. The boss also pretended not to know which member of staff I was talking about, but then contradicted himself by saying he’d had a call yesterday saying we were coming back and wanted a refund. He also said they cannot respond to everyone’s messages and denied knowing that the email address on their website is no longer valid! The boss was aggressive in the manner he spoke to me. I tried to be assertive but he just kept raising his voice at me. I left the office upset and I made a comment to another customer as I walked out! I went to talk to the man I spoke to yesterday, he denied saying I could have a refund! Next thing I know I’m being shouted at as I am ordered off their premises by the boss, as 3 other members of staff stood with him because I’d made a comment to another customer and that was ‘out of line!!’ I WOULD NOT WISH THE STRESS AND UPSET THIS EXPERIENCE HAS LEFT ME FEELING ON ANYBODY.

Put a deposit down on a car about a month ago, didn’t receive it. On website says cars are in a condition to sell but mine had a handbrake problem and a tyre pressure sensor issues. Was always me chasing up for the car and updates and got very vague responses each time. The only good thing was that I got deposit back. Would not recommend.

The whole experience was shocking. Wish I'd walked away from what looked like a nice car. Sales manager argumentative when i took the carback with issues which never properly get resolved, there is definately no "customer is always right" attitude and the so called warranty through a third party company leaves a lot to be desired. Paid just short of £2,800 for a car for my daughter and so far had to pay an additional £800 less than 6 months later. Cleckheaton Motors are only interested in buying cheap at auction and selling on quickly for a quick profit. Beware, I'll never buy a car from this company again.
