Co-op Food - Colburn - Broadway

They need to stock their shelves more often, it’s constantly bare with a small selection of choice when it comes to ready made/fresh food. Staff are friendly and welcoming.

Consistently rude staff, I asked one of the women a question, it was quite clear what I was asking, like a machine gun, she said “what, that there?” I said yeah. Bottom shelf pointing at it. Again she said “ what, that stuff?”. I said yes. Another time I needed a few things, at every little thing, this young, male looking woman, possibly transitioning, said “are you done?”. Should have aid “ is that everything? Lucky I didn’t rip his/her head off. I almost bought 18 chocolates, simple maths, add an 0, double it, take off the price of two. I knew the price, but this guy who seems to be the most senior know got one bar, scanned it about 21 times, overcharged me, i said, is there 21 bars there?, he counted them one by one for about 4 bars, mock looked at his screen, started counting that and said yeah. Do NOT play me for a fool. I also asked for smaller change to be made up to a note. He asked his colleague, beside him, asked over their intercom , can we do that, ponders and refused. In 39 years of being on this earth I’ve never none someone to be so persnickety, just change the 10 £1s in my hand, it’s probably benefit you by having more coins in your till. I also had a big win on lotto, having experienced people messing up seemingly easy things down the years, I gave her nine winners to check and then gave her the winner at the end. No hardship,but she questioned me 3 times why I didn’t hand her it with the others. You had to be there to witness it, I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. Walking away I looked back and noticed the two women smiling at each other, clearly about me, I looked at the shoppers, they didn’t seem to notice, as I was sick of the poor customer service, I barked “what?” and I was a bit more abrupt as they knew they were in the wrong but didn’t say anything, and I made one of them squirm as they weren’t quite so clever when they were confronted. There is more but I’d be here all day describing the idiocy I’ve experienced. Other co op branches within 30/40 miles bar 1 I’ve never had a problem with.

Lovely place with great people! Don’t know what the nobhead below me is on but I don’t really see any good reviews by him and it looks like he just gets a kick out of complaining. Yikes! Anyways, stay strong folks!

Friendly staff, good range of products available. Post Office located at back of store and cash point near front.
