FANTASTIC We stayed for one night for a birthday celebration. On arrival we were welcomed by the lovely reception staff , we had an early check in at 1pm, the room was ready even though it was 12:30pm. We had booked a Dales room and it was lovely, large room overlooking the lake. The bed was massive and very comfortable. We had booked the Spa which was very nice, and not too busy. The infinity jacuzzis were nice and warm. The saunas were great but I thought the pool was on the cool side but my wife had a swim, maybe Iβm a wimp! We had an evening meal and we both opted for the festive menu and it was delicious. The bar was cozy and we even met the owner, Mr Bannister, who was a real gentleman. After a great nights sleep we headed for breakfast, which was just as nice as the evening meal, with plenty of choice. All the staff we encounter we polite and friendly. Would definitely recommend, and hopefully we will return and I would love to try the Clay shooting.
The Coniston, what a place to getaway for a few days π I would highly recommend to anyone who wants to stay somewhere very peaceful, scenic and anyone who loves a Spa. Highlights include the bar and restaurant in the hotel, which provides a cozy evening expirience and the breakfast was served in great portions. The steak at dinnerπ was some of the best I've ever had, with perfectly cooked sides provided. The Spa is perfect if you catch the right and quiet times. The infinity pool amazing, clean and great as the outdoor views you get are unmatched anywhere else. The Spa indoors is a good size, great pool, jacuzzi for couples to share and the steam rooms are amazing. The staff were very attentive and I'd recommend checking out their other outdoor activities plus the massages given, which was a great add on. I will for sure be back one day, as the location is perfect and scenic. Great attentive staff, very clean facilities and the rooms were kept well.
I had booked this hotel for one night stay to eventually going to Broughton Hall for a week. This hotel is beautiful and the grounds out of this world. Some of the staff were very accommodating, friendly and professional, but one server not so much. I felt like she was annoyed when I asked if I could get a cup of hot tea with some pastry or something light to eat because I had just flown from the States and the weather was pretty horrible (heavy rain with strong winds). She told me that the kitchen was closed and they were not serving any food at this time. However another couple walked in and requested the same thing, except they had a different server and she did serve them hot tea and toast. I did get my tea, but without food. Then 10 days prior, I had requested if I could get an earlier check in because I got to the hotel around 10:30 and wanted to get a nap, shower, etc. They told me I had to pay extra for earlier check in which would be around 1:00 anyway. I have to say that the front desk ladies were amazing and extremely accommodating, but my room got ready at 2:30. The front doors were not functioning properly due to the storm and I had to walk around and outside with my bags getting wet. Anyway, it is no big deal but it is the little things that matter in the overall picture. I loved the food there and the service was top notch.
Came to the hotel for lunch. The steak and chips were superb. They catered for my friend who is a coeliac as my friend described. I had the mushroom soup and the pork scratchings with homemade apple sauce, both were perfect. The staff were extremely helpful, professional and friendly. Although it was my first visit they made it feel like I was a regular with there warmth. If I lived local I would come here often.
We had our diamond wedding anniversary with all our family we were treated in the most delightful way. The party consisted 16 family members who all enjoyed the festivities the food was superb and the service was smashing. On the second day we all took part in some of the available activities what fun one of the girls commented GPA I could have done it all day thanks to all the staff for a memorable day πππ Stan
