It was a very quiet day when we came (13th June). There were only about 6 other people that we saw the whole time we were visiting. Plenty of car parking. There’s an honesty box where you pay £8 each. You can also collect a garden trail from the stand. The parterre garden at the back of the house was vibrant and colourful. We tried to follow the trail, but it was a bit mixed up. The arrows around weren’t clear and we felt the trail wasn’t in the order of the sheet. Nevertheless, we made our own way round the garden, parklands, and pond area. There’s toilets behind the house.
We were there for the plant fair. Good quality displays of plants and items for the garden plus some, I'll say bric-a-brac, and I know that's wrong as it was a selection of tools and antique fittings. It attracted a good number of people! There was a marquee serving food and drinks with plenty of seating available inside and out. The grounds are a delight to stroll around, and the plants, shrubs, and trees have descriptive signs that make for interesting reading. There are toilets available and dog waste points. Well worth a visit.
A nice place for a visit. The flower market was poor for £6 entry but, the grounds are quite nice to walk round. The upkeep must be hard going and expensive. Some fantastic specimens of trees and plants.
A really nice place, but very pricey entrance fee for what it is. £48 for three adults and two kids. We have similar in Warrington with Walton Gardens and it's just the price of the pay and display car park as a fee.
Beautiful setting well laid our tulip festival. Great photo opportunity and massive range of tulips which were beautiful Fabulous grounds and gardens. Interesting. we visited two years ago and got the wow factor then, so this could b a good one off visit rather than annual. Felt it expensive this time, on sale very high end local crafts.
