Went for the day to visit friends and while I was there I booked a holiday here because I loved it that much. The lodge was welcoming and cosy, had everything you needed. Location was perfect for a relaxing chilled holiday to spend quality time with friends and family.

We had an absolutely fantastic week staying at Sunhill Lodges. We stayed in Pivotal and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone. The location I was a little worried about as it seemed to be in the middle of nowhere, but there was a lovely pub within walking distance (Queens Head at Finghall - 20 minutes) and the views were exquisite. The lodges themselves were incredibly clean and well cared for, with huge amounts of outdoors space to call your own for the week and set well apart (by around 15 -20 metres) from neighbouring lodges. The facilities in the lodge were brilliant, almost everything you could possibly need and the outside areas were beautiful, lovely garden furniture and the hot tub was spotless and well maintained. We heard very little aside from the nature and the horses while there! We did a tour of the stables whilst there too, for an extra charge, but well worth it, so interesting and took a good 90 minutes so we felt we got our monies worth and it was great to get up close to the horses. Carlos the maintenance guy was super friendly and made us feel at home, and gave us some good tips about local eateries, as did Kieran when we visited the stables. My one and only gripe is the back door to pivotal really does need a proper fix with a bolt inside for proper security. The dishwasher was sadly out of action too which was disappointing. Hopefully it’ll be fixed or replaced for the next guests. And also what on earth was going on the with rancid smell in the en-suite to the main bedroom, it wasn’t all the time but on occasion it really smelled in there, despite the bathroom having not been used. We used some air freshener that we’d luckily brought along on holiday with us, but feel this could be supplied by the lodges as this is clearly an issue in this lodge, as I see on trip advisor someone else has said the same thing about that bathroom in pivotal in the past. That aside, we had a wonderful week and wouldn’t hesitate to return in future.

This place is an absolute gem. Views are out of this world. Our lodge was clean and tidy and has all you need for a comfortable stay. Hot tub and BBQ were welcome additions. Beds are comfy and each had their own en-suite. Will definitely return.

Just returned from a 4 night stay with my partner at sunhill lodges. We stayed in the Hunters lodge which is nice and secluded with lovely views of the horse field. The lodge was very clean and spacious. Plenty of logs provided for the log burner and outside fire pit. Loved how the horses and ducks came to the lodges garden fence. The lodge was well equipped and the owners left a hamper for our arrival which included, milk, butter, oatcakes, crisps, jam and bread (local produce) which was a nice touch. I’m extremely picky when it comes to bed comfort and found the bed extremely comfortable. Constructive criticism: The cleaners hadn’t cleaned out the bedroom draws as we found men’s underpants on our arrival. Also, I left something behind at the lodge and have been unable to reach the owner after several unanswered phone calls. The grass in the garden was overgrown and should have been cut prior to our arrival. The bottle opener was broken and we were therefore unable to use it properly. Aside from the above had an amazing stay and enjoyed exploring the Yorkshire dales.
