The Wyvill Arms

Staying at the camp site across the road so perfect location for us. Ned was our waiter and an absolute gem. Brilliant attention to detail, great personality and very personable. The food was absolutely delicious. Fish cake and duck pate starters. Loads of bread with the pate which my husband begrudgingly left some as he knew what was to come!! The onion chutney which came on the side is the nicest one I’ve ever tasted. My fish cake was divine with a perfectly cooked poached egg on top. I then had the fish stew which was gorgeous. Plenty prawns, scallops, salmon and white fish (can’t remember which one). Hubby had sirloin with garlic prawns (OMG if you like prawns these are a must), he upgraded to Wyvill Chips which were potato pave and again, delicious and worth the small additional cost to upgrade from normal chips. If you’re a foodie I’d certainly recommend here. The rooms look lovely too if you fancy staying over.

Enjoyed a lovely two night stay at the Wyvill Arms. The staff were exceptional, nothing was too much trouble. Spotting my wife was vegetarian the Chef put on a special just for her, which she thoroughly enjoyed. The evenings meals were great, breakfast was perfect and the room was superb. Would highly recommend and will visit again. Top tip. Call to book. You'll get the best price.

A wonderfully warm welcome from Ned and the team after a full day walking in the local area. Our room was well furnished and the bed was so comfortable. We ate in the restaurant and the meal was excellent. Nothing is too much bother for the staff. Would highly recommend and will hopefully staff again

I recently stayed at the Wyvill Arms whilst visiting the area for work. I can honestly say it was such a delightful find! Welcoming from the moment I walked in, my room was visually stunning and extremely comfortable. The staff were helpful and friendly and my meals were exceptional. I’ll definitely stay here in the future when returning to the area. Thanks for a lovely stay!

Stayed 2 nights at this gem …the WHOLE team were fantastic throughout our stay, nothing was too much trouble,also had a great laugh.Evening Meals were outstandingly fantastic ,great choice with great portions.Room was lovely and we slept well. Breakfast was also lovely.Relaxed atmosphere with beautiful surroundings all topped off with a team that are genuinely lovely.Will definitely return and recommend.
