The Chequers Inn

Stayed at the chequers in 14.12.25 Would highly recommend It’s a warm welcoming atmosphere by Richard his partner and staff The room and en-suite were clean warm and presented well Richard went beyond to help us when we struggled to get an Uber to take us to a hotel where we were wedding guests He drove us to the hotel and then went back for our friends to take them too The breakfast is superb freshly cooked perfectly with big pots of tea and coffee Reasonably priced too We will be back

Great hospitality from Richard and Aileen and the best breakfast. Bedrooms are fine and bed comfortable (room 5). We were up for a wedding at the Croft hotel (about a mile away) and The Chequers is a more affordable option.

Went for the first time walking in great atmosphere and the pub was traditional not been tampered with staff great and friendly Sunday lunch outstanding 😀 negative table sticky and wasn't asked if I would like dessert considering every table that was cleared with ours were asked

Great little gem of a place to eat, just off the A167 a little way south of Darlington. Sundays are very busy for lunches so be sure to book. Meals during the week are really good aswell. Staff are always polite and helpful. Portion sizes are really good as well.

Excellent historical inn. Service is 100% from owners to staff made to feel very welcome. Food is outstanding had breakfast and evening meal 100% recommend. It was welcoming everyone spoke you. We had our dog who was also made to feel welcome will definitely be returning .
