Called on Monday to try and get ahold of them due to being pregnant but having a bad cough/blocked nose and feeling feverish. No one picked up. I tried calling again the next day and they told me they aren't competent to give me advice and to go to a pharmacy. I experienced high fever again last night and after calling 111 they booked an appointment for me with the GP (! A phone call) the GP then told me they can see me later on in the day. Why do I have to wait for 4 days to be seen and only after I called 111 to be able to get an appointment? Definitely not something you want to deal with when pregnant and wait around with fever. I will be switching GPs.
Always had a mixed experience with this place. Unfortunately most memories of the place are bad due to the disgusting attitude of some of the staff (on different occasions), especially one of the female receptionists who during a traumatic time in my life had no consideration at all and was extremely rude to the point I walked out crying. I was also given a misdiagnosis in January by one of the Advanced Nurse Practitioners - My heart attack symptoms got dismissed as "probably a pinched nerve" and was advised to use volterol on my arms, chest and back, because apparently I was fine when they checked me over (checked my oxygen levels, did some physio and listened with a stethoscope), yet later got rushed to a&e and diagnosed with inflammation of the heart due to a lower respiratory infection i wasn't even aware of. I will never forget that. How could I have been ok?! But today I'm finally writing a review because I can't get an appointment for my daughter as they don't answer the phone! 111 advised getting an appointment with a GP for her within the next hour and I was left hanging at number 1 in the queue position for over 45 minutes! I ended up having to hang up and rung the same day health centre instead who answered straight away and got an appointment for in 2 hours time! I'm only being generous with 2 stars for the sake of their lovely Health Care Assistant, Sharon, who will allow extra time to discuss medical concerns during treatments and is always happy to see you. You can tell who works here because they care about patients, and who is just in it for a job.
great doctor always helpful and listening. I thank them, they helped me a lot. I was waiting for a medical operation for a year and a half at another medical facility. I decided to change my medical facility to St Vincent Center and they organized my medical surgery after a month. Thank you very much. We call you doctors angels guards.
My wife called in the morning to book an appointment because she's been suffering from nausea for weeks and since last week, she's experiencing strong pains in right abdomen area. She heard to go to pharmacy as they don't deal with such things. When she insisted to book an appointment GP practice offered a phone call in evening. Nurse on phone call was furious nobody sent her to face to face appointment, body examination with all tests required. Problem may be serious and we feel neglected.
UPDATE - 8/1/24 - I received a call back from a manager regarding the call I made on 2/1/24. She listened to the call and wholeheartedly apologised for the service provided and asked how my eldest son was. Upgraded from 2 Stars to 4 stars. ----------------------------------------------- This has been rated 2 stars because of one of the receptionists/care navigators (who did not provide their first name) I Spoke to on 2/1/24 regarding my eldest son (2 years old). Normally the service we get is good (worthy of 5 stars) Instead of helping, offering advice or getting a clinician to call back when I explained my concern the care navigator I spoke to was more concerned about giving me grief for not contacting 111 despite me following advice on the NHS website. Despite explaining I was following what's stated on the NHS website to contact the doctors first and only 111 after enough time had passed with no improvement, the navigator was not bothered in the slightest with what I had to say claiming the guidance on the NHS website is under COVID rules (not stated on the NHS website it's just the general guidance on the concern I had), again continuing to lecture and subsequently argue with me demanding to know why I was irate with her when I got upset. I was spoken to in a very provocative manner with an exceptionally poor tone of voice. I demanded to speak to a manager because of the way she spoke to me, she said she was the manager, I demanded to speak to someone above her. No response to my demand, instead got told in a condescending manner a clinician will call back. Doctor called back, they couldn't suggest a whole lot to help but I appreciated they took the time to call and suggest alternatives. I requested a manager call back because of the navigator I spoke to earlier they kindly explained I would need to call back and request at reception. I stated I won't do that because the navigator alleged they are the manager so it's a conflict of interest. The doctor didn't seem to believe this but said they would get someone to call back but nothing came of it. I have to stress NORMALLY the service is great and the doctors, nurses, and the majority of the care navigators/receptionists are great, very attentive, polite etc. But this one care navigator/receptionist/manager I spoke to on 2/1/24 is in dire need of customer service retraining, especially on how to speak to people. To get personal and lecture me on what I should have done instead of being professional and just helping me is disgraceful.
