I visit here for outpatient appointments and blood taking. The concept is a wonderful idea. On the same site there are also rugby games on all year and football in the winter. There are various restaurants, a full cinema, a swimming pool, an extremely tempting coffee shop. The Vanguard Centre is only a short walk away where there are further restaurants, a large M&S, a Next and the largest Go Outdoors. Stating all this, it is actually worthy of 5 stars, but then there is the Parking.... Parking on match days, the spaces are taken over by supporters and north of York just becomes gridlocked as normal Saturday/Sunday and weekday shoppers and supporters are intermingled with with people arriving or leaving the restaurants. On week days, when the stadium is open to outpatients for eyes, Rheumatology, the Sleep Clinic and also the bloodbtaking department, the playground is open as is the swimming pool. All of these things are welcomed with open arms, but the two dropped stars are for the chaos and despair of the total lack of parking. This is a common thing in York, which to be fair, is a compact city, but there are a lot of visitors both in York and on the outskirts where the retail parks are, which are just not been catered for. York Stadium has to be the worst though. The concept is great but the car park planning is just chaotic for visitors using the facilities.

I went to York stadium for the WRWC 2025 game New Zealand vs Spain. Its was a lovely small stadium with friendly staff and great facilities. Well organised team of stewards and great transport links to and from the stadium. Really enjoyed my experience there.

Got told it was free to park by a man outside Hollywood bowl also had signs about saying free to park If staying past a certain time we needed a receipt from a shop that proved we spent over £5 which we had. But could not find anyone in the car park to show the receipt to as we came out, no staff around to ask at this time. Yesterday I received a £50 parking fine! This car park should have a machine where you can scan a barcode on the receipt to show you spent over £5 in a shop how are we supposed to show someone when there was no staff to be found!?

Can't praise the football staff enough. So friendly and happy to go the extra mile. Great ambassadors for the club. Good luck in the future and hope to see you back in the football league soon.
