Lovely church, interesting names on some headstones, unusual star of David on the lead drain pipes.
Lovely little church in the attractive village of East Witton. Grade 2 listed building dating from early 1800's. Limited road parking. Set in well kept, tidy grounds. Gate has an ancient and unusual latch. The pulpit dates from 1947 and is a Mousie Thompson, the Mouseman of Thirsk. Always a childish thrill, hunting out and finding his characterful meeces in these old churches. This pulpit mouse is an obvious, easily spotted one. Some attractive tile work on the altar.
Nice setting in rural East Witton.
