This is a great place, books, computers, meeting place. Has printer so can print documents etc. Its easy to join and very friendly and helpful staff. It's a great asset to the community.
It's convenient for out of town people to use . They need to have a least 1 member of staff per shift that is IT literate and is competent in the role they are there for, for those of us that need a bit of assistance . Also in my experience of using the library the staff are very vocal and it makes it hard for us users to concentrate when working on the computers .
Since moving to Caton nearly a year ago,I've started to use this library. I have found the staff both friendly and helpful.
Modern building. light & airy. In addition to expected books there is a small cafe area serving tea, coffees & biscuits. They have colour photocopying/printing service which is very popular. There are eight Windows PCs available with a very fast internet connection; you get 30 minutes a day for free, more if you are unemployed. Loads of local information too. The library has a constantly changing stock of around 100 film DVDs available for rental. Adult learning classes take place here and there is an office for the local ALMO, Yorkshire Coast Homes. The library is now run by volunteers, entirely. It has events each week and visits by schools, brownies etc. The charity which runs the library ensures that it participates in the national schemes run by council-controlled libraries in other parts of the UK.
The visit was exceptional. The organisation for the prevention of covid19 was first class. I felt totally safe ar all times. The chance to choose my own books has been anticipated for a long time and this met my expectations
