Upon arrival we were given a warm and lovely welcome by Debbie the owner who is a wonderful special person, and made our weeks stay a delight. The house was spotlessly clean, spacious and well equipped we could not have asked for more. We had the use of all the outside areas, garden and patio and a secure garage to park our motorcycle in. We have traveled many thousands of miles around the UK, Ireland and all over Europe on our motorcycle, but this was by far the most pleasurable stay we have ever had.
House itself is nice with everything that is needed for your stay.however, parking on the drive can be a problem as the host has frequent visitors with cars so there isn’t always room,so you end up risking life and limb parking along the busy road.on our arrival, host was having one of the weeks first parties, and the smell of weed filled the bathroom.not pleasant.the listing stated we had full use of the garden but the host had many visitors so this made it awkward to go outside, which we didn’t do,also our dogs didn’t go outside in the garden as the hosts larger dogs freely roamed.as I say there is everything you need here for your stay, but there are a couple of safety issues, smoke alarm base is on the ceiling in the living room but no smoke alarm present, also didn’t see a carbon monoxide detector yet there is an open fire so it’s a legal requirement.bed in the room with the tiny en suite hasn’t been checked underneath as the metal support is clearly not holding up the bed.little other things such as cobwebs on windows which should’ve been cleaned long ago.if you’re looking for somewhere quiet to stay, think twice about here, like I say host has frequent parties and visitors, sitting outside the windows,so if you’re looking for somewhere peaceful you’re unlikely to get it here.also the host seems to be a bit of a curtain twitcher as every time we came out she came out too.had a nasty email when we got home accusing us of damaging an interior wall with a mobility scooter (which had remained in the car all week and not brought in the house at all!) got called unnecessary names by the host too.very rude.one of our dogs (very tiny chihuahua) had left a peanut on a rug which we had not seen as was loading the car) I apologised for this, but as a self proclaimed dog person, the host should know a dog will only go where previous dogs have been,so I’m wondering if others had nasty emails from her too. Ebberston is a lovely village,we’ve stayed here before in a different cottage which was cheaper than this one,and it is a great base for exploring Yorkshire. I just do not recommend this property.the host is selling up,and is clearly just making as much money from it as she can whilst she can.very rude person indeed
