Gumboots & Wellingtons

We've visited Gumboots & Wellingtons five years on the run and will definitely be making it 6, 7, 8 and hopefully beyond! From the warm welcome from Lesley & Andrew (who have made us feel like old friends from day one) to the lovely, cosy Shepherd's Hut (stocked with tea, coffee, crumpets, granola, pancake mix and comfy blankets), it has everything you could want. And that's before you even talk about the views, peace and quiet and gorgeous country walks in the Dalby Forest. Visit once and I guarantee you'll be back for more.

Another beautiful stay at Gumboots & Wellingtons, but this time in The Den. A little bigger than The Hut, The Den was the perfect spot for a little remote working. Set in a stunning cottage garden on the edge of North York Moors and Dalby Forest it doesn’t get much more tranquil than this. I was lucky enough to see Gertrude, the semi resident the Guinea fowl wandering around the garden too. I can’t wait to revisit!

This was our second visit and it’s still as charming and captivating at the first time. The Den has everything you need and is full of charm . Andrew and Lesley are so welcoming and we took up both of their recommendations for eating out which were superb … we will be back and probably stay longer next time !

I recently had the absolute pleasure of staying at Gumboots and Wellingtons with my partner, and it was a fantastic experience. The accommodation is beautiful and cozy, with a real sense of character. It's the perfect spot if you love nature and you want to switch off from the busyness of modern life. The place is thoughtfully designed, with everything you need for a comfortable stay. The rooms are spacious and well-equipped, and the whole space was lovely and welcoming. You can tell a lot of care has gone into making sure everything is just right. The coffee and breakfast they provided was outstanding. If you’re looking for a quiet, nature-filled retreat along Yorkshire’s beautiful coast, Gumboots and Wellingtons is definitely worth a visit! It’s got the perfect balance of comfort, charm, and convenience.

Just got back home from a 2 night stay. Lesley and Andrew are the nicest, friendliest people you will ever meet! They think of absolutely everything and nothing is ever too much trouble. We stayed in the den, It was stunningly decorated, warm and welcoming. They think of absolutely everything. Our confirmation email was filled with places to explore, historical landmarks, food recommendations and so much more. We followed some of their recommendations and my god they were amazing! I can’t recommend Gumboots and wellington’s enough. We will definitely be returning!
