A visit to St Hilda's Church in Thornton Dale is a delightful experience. The church is well-preserved, and the surroundings are simply stunning. It’s definitely worth a quick stop if you’re exploring the village.
Such a fantastic church; it's difficult to put to words. I've been here several times and I never get tired of it. You can literally feel this history here. It's amazing to think that people have been worshipping here for more than a 1000 years.
Pretty little church that dates from 11th century and is still in use today. Lots of history and it's listed grade II*. Free car parking for visitors to the church.
A little gem of an ancient church (c 1050) in a tranquil valley. Look out for ice cream and scones at the cottage beyond the church. Camp site at the farm.
Lovely area! Lovely gem of a church in an even more beautiful area! :)
