I was very concerned about my kidney function deteriorating to GFR 33. 3 points off being referred to a renal specialist . Also I suffered severe leg cramps during the night which affected my mental and physical health I had a phone appointment with. Dr. Mahmood , who arranged a face to face appointment. Dr.Mahmood discussed options with me and agreed to try a reduction in Losartan and amlodipine. As a result my blood pressure remained a good level, I haven't had any leg cramps since , which has improved my mental and physical health tremendously . Most of all my GFR reading has improved tremendously now reading at 44. I am so grateful to Dr.Mahmood for taking the time, patience and understanding of my deep concerns. I am a.main carer for my wife and daughter and felt that my deteriorating health would leave us all vulnerable. But now because of my improved health and bright future, I feel able to continue my support for my family, which is all down to Dr.Mahmood's understanding nature. I think that she has been amazing and we are all so grateful. Also thank you to Gillian for helping me with the link.

The staff are very helpful. My only criticism is with the length of time it takes to get an appointment. My friend who lives in Thornhill Dewsbury can get an appointment with a doctor sometimes the same day but no more than three days. I understand it varies between areas but we are told the earlier we can identify a problem the better chance of tge cure.

Impossible to get appointments, and if you get one, you won’t be seeing a doctor in person! It will be a nurse or dr over the phone. But good luck! I called daily first thing for 4 days. I never had the option to see a dr in person even when 111 said to see a doctor that day due to the severity. They didn’t offer one the next day or the next. Weeks of this health issue went on and I only ever could see a nurse or a dr over the phone which wasn’t possible as they needed to look at it in person. My health issue went on longer than it should. Worst part is they removed online appointment booking for Covid, and never added it back! So good luck if you can’t call due to health or if your health means you can’t be up in the morning. They claim it’s for triage reasons but that’s not true at all as receptionists aren’t medically trained so they can’t triage you. It’s inaccessible for disabled people to have to call first thing and even if you call there is no appointments. Add online appointments back At the very least for disabled people!

It’s not in my nature to leave bad reviews but this practice doesn’t really care about its patients. As someone who has gone through cancer earlier this year, I don’t see my oncologist or breast care nurse any more I would have hoped this GP practice that’s in the heart of the community would be a bit more pleasant. I am trying to get appointments to improve my overall health as a life time goal and one receptionist is just really abrupt and condescending. After being sent to the wrong appointment face to face I was offered a phone appointment. I wasn’t given a specific time and they rang once, during the time I have to get my daughter to school, I rang back and pushed for them to call again however it was whether the doctor felt like it. I don’t think that’s is appropriate or sufficient care at all! So I still haven’t had my appointment. I’ll be looking at reviews next time when choosing a new doctors.
