Boonhill House - Caravan Site & Fadmoor Airstrip GB-1009

Just returned from a lovely long weekend at our favourite cl site / hideaway. My job is hgv driving, so what I love about Booonhill is, once the car is parked up, we don’t use it again until it’s time to hitch up to go home. The site has everything , stunning views, location, some fantastic walks from the site , very spacious pitches, with metered EHU , fresh water and Elsan disposal within 10 meters of each pitch There’s a lovey on site walk of about 2 mile up to the stone circle where there’s a picnic table, you can just sit watch the sun set whilst admiring the stunning views. The site is always well kept, Lynn and Peter are always very helpful If we’ve needed any help or information. Places to eat Royal Oak Gillamoor, really nice place to eat, we advise to book if you have a dog, they usually put us in the snug at the front. The Crown Hutton le Hole, another lovely place to eat also dog friendly The Lion Inn at Blackly Ridge The Lemon tree Fish and chips takeaway Kirkbymoorside Walks from the site (one way ) Royal Oak Gillamoor 1 Mile, 20 minute walk Hutton le Hole 3.25 mile about 1.30 mins Kirkbymoorside 3.75 Mile about 2 hours Church houses 5.5 mile 2.30 minutes including the Daffodil walk ( in spring ) By car ( Times Approximately ) Pickering !0 mile 20 Mins Helmsley 8.5 mile 15 minutes Rosedale Abbey 7.5 mile 15 minutes Malton 16 mile 30 minutes York 29 mile 50 minutes Whitby 31 mile 50 minutes Scarborough 28 mile 50 minutes

What a find.. peaceful, fantastic views, especially from the stone circle. Peter and his wife are so welcoming. It's a rare thing to watch a small plane land next to pitches and then park up on a pitch and get his tent up.. brilliant.Peteris a font of knowledge, especially about the royal observer corps stationed on boon hill. If you ask he may let you borrow the keys to the post which also includes a cold war nuclear bunker.. outstanding stuff. Couldn't fault the place..back to basics, yeah, but the other stuff more than makes up for it . Definitely recommend.

Lovely little site, plenty of good walks and nice views. Well maintained site with metered EHU, water and chemical disposal at pitch. Must have own toilet and shower facilities. Nice strong 4g signal and tv reception also.

We booked this little gem of a site for 5 days it is so quiet 🤫 and has great walks around the area and a few great pubs too…My other half loved it so much he stayed another week here with our 3 dogs, nothing was any trouble the owners are lovely people and we will certainly be booking up again….

My husband has wanted to take us here since we got our camper in October. Such a lovely site! Peaceful! Well maintained site! A perfect get away only 11 miles from home. So lucky to live in such a gorgeous place
