The Corn Mill Lodge Hotel

A welcoming hotel with well appointed rooms. I had one of the top floor rooms that was very spacious and comfortable. Bed and pillows some of the best I've had in a hotel. Shower was powerful but suffered badly from very variable water temperature. The top floor room must have been closed to a water tank or some other part of the water/heating system as this would create a lot of noise at various points, including during the very early morning for a few minutes each time. Desk and chair were comfortable to work at. Nice also to be treated like an adult and be given full control over the heating! Food and service in the restaurant was decent and fairly priced. Car park is tight on space if you have a larger car. I would definitely use this hotel again if I'm in the area for work.

Popped in for a random lunch, having passed by this place so often. Its right off a roundabout so you need to be aware of the turning. Plenty of parking. Kind and polite staff. Looks ol but I think that's on the building aswell, being so old. The restaurant could use an update but its ok. Open kitchen area so you see the kitchen staff, which for me isnt ideal. Its like they cant chill or have team banter as the customers will hear it. Tea tasted cheap. I asked for a salad and asked for certain things it be removed from it, but I was told the salad comes as is. They also count the salad as a main course which it should be a side, but they put it on a main dish to price it that way. My food was very salty, and the veg seemed like it had been warmed up, only the cauliflower seem nice and steamed. I had to leave part of my food due to the overwhelming salt. My husband had pie and whether it was a bad combination choice of ham and turkey together, the ham tasted off and sour.. I noticed the kitchen staff didnt seem to be cooking alot of stuff ,more getting already made things in pots and warming them. Didnt see anything looking like steam from cooking pots on the cooker but noticed the gravy jugs and the soup jugs were just that, jugs with cling film. My kitchen experience tells me the soup didnt come from a fresh batch from a pot soup but warmed up in the microwave or something , same for the soup. Veg soup didnt taste nice either. All food came out with 10-15 mins which tells me it wasnt fresh. Again from my experience. And due to the vastness of the food being served, this meant the kitchen staff then had nothing to do but stand around talking..even the potatoes tasted canned and unseasoned. At one point i saw one cook peeling veg and then scratch his face, and continue peeling. I haven't stayed in the rooms so I cannot rate that. Overall the staff were nice , kitchen staff seemed ok, but i wouldn't eat here again. Their demographic seemed mostly elderly as that was most of their diners. Maybe thats the reason for the salt or just making warmed food taste nice. Also side note, the advertisement outside says meals for £8.25 ish.. but on the menu starters are roughly £6 and pizzas and desserts are roughly £8-6 . So remember that. And the additional for drinks.. staff were again great but the food was a let down...

Stayed while visiting son in Leeds. Great price and super service. Nice polite staff good sized room. Breakfast ( in with price) had good choice of stuff ( no fried eggs ) and help yourself. Had a meal on day of arrival it was mega and great choice would stay again.

Just had a wonderful short break at this hotel. Everything about it is1st class. Staff were always very helpful and the food was amazing. Breakfast was all you would have wanted. The Chef cooked us proper poached eggs each morning, not like a lot of places that zap them in the microwave or airfryer nowdays. Evening meal plenty of choices and we'll presented. Our room was perfect.

A lovely place to stay. The room was spotless and the staff very friendly. The restaurant is worth checking out. Loads of choice and I really enjoyed my meal. The portions are generous. Great value for the price
