Swinsty Reservoir

Gorgeous place to take a break and go for a walk. Very organised with parking and toilets. Several well managed walking paths available.

This place is special, well worth visiting with family or friends. It's breathing just sitting by the reservoir at any point. They provide picnic benches, and there are so many spectacular views. Kids of any age can complete the trail as the path is fairly level and easy. I walked all around both reservoirs just over 11km. It may take over 3 hours if you're planning on taking a stroll around both. There are also trails through the woodlands around the reservoirs that were equally amazing. The tea room at the church was closed, though. I'm definitely going back with my kids. There are toilet facilities provided only at the car park between both reservoirs.

A beautiful place for a walk. Clean and well kept pathways. Beautiful views and very quiet and peaceful when we visited. Free parking and refreshments were available in the car park with good coffee!

A lovely walk on a safe path all round the reservoir with changing views of the water and surrounding trees. Great views of Yorkshire countryside. Parking and toilets available.

Gorgeous reservoir with lovely views and a nice walking route around it. Only downside is that you have to pay to park in any of the nearby car parks
