Convenient parking spot for access to walking around Swinsty and Fewston reservoirs. 2.1mtr height barrier at entrance, 1hr for £1, 2hrs for £2, 6hrs for £3 and all day for £5. Payment via card or app only, no cash. Payment also transferable/valid at other nearby locations. There's covered picnic area and several exposed tables near the water, but no toilet facilities (available at Fewston Res.). A suggested route around the water covers 3.5mi/5km at a relaxed 2hr pace (see photos).

What a beautiful tranquil place to sit and relax by the water on the sand or pebble beach. Or take a walk. Perfect afternoon out on a sunny day. Plenty of picnic benches along the side of the path. Or take your own camping chairs. Lots of space for all. Free parking too.

Good car park to visit the reservoir. Pay stations frequently vandalised so in such cases pay by phone (RingGo app, location 34845) is the last resort. Ice cream/confectionery & drinks van frequently in attendance. Popular with walkers.

Walked both Swinsty and Fewston reservoirs in a figure of eight. About 7 miles of easy terrain . Plenty of benches if required . Toilets at the central car park.

This is a nice place, but it is so busy I feel it removes the charm a little. I understand why its busy as its so close to Harrogate etc. The path around is very simple, easy to follow, my two year old walked it, so I'm sure you'll be fine. It took my and my kids 2.5 hours to get around at an extremely slow rate, I think you could do this in a hour maybe? Who knows, someone without a toddler. The path around was muddy to don't wear your nice trainers etc. Regarding the parking, i think the machine had been damaged! But don't fret there is still a way for you to pay ;)
