Byways Boutique B&B Knaresborough

We had a wonderful stay at byways boutique for the weekend. The room was exceptionally clean and spacious. The breakfast was delicious and plentiful. Caroline is a wonderful host who was more than happy to help and make sure we had a good stay.

We had a fantastic stay at Byways. Caroline went above and beyond to ensure that we felt at home and had everything we needed. We were especially grateful that she went out of her way to accommodate our vegan diet (going as far as asking us what brands we preferred and getting them in for our breakfast!). Everything was extremely clean and comfortable. The room we stayed in (The Africa Suite) was well kitted out with a great sized dressing table and stunning bathroom. There was also a small fridge with filtered water and (oat) milk for us which was very useful. If we are back in the area this place will be top of our list to come and stay again, thanks so much for making our weekend away even more special!

Byways Boutique is by far the best B&B we've ever stayed in. Caroline & Darren are the perfect hosts. Friendly & attentive. Nothing is to much trouble & Caroline's attention to detail is exceptional. We took over the whole place, for my son's wedding party, so we saw all 3 rooms. They are all fabulous. Each themed and decorated with things Caroline & Darren have collected on their worldwide travels. The rooms and en suite bathrooms are spotlessly clean & the beds really comfortable. Caroline thinks of everything, from cloths left to wipe down the outside furniture should it rain, to putting a corkscrew in the room. We were greeted with a bottle of champagne on arrival & a welcome card. Little touches that were so thoughtful. Two in our party were vegan & Caroline went to the trouble of asking which vegan products they liked for breakfast. Then bought in their preferred sausages & stocked the fridge in their room with their choice of vegan milk - at no extra cost. Breakfast is fabulous, all freshly cooked to order, with a choice of cooked or continental & Caroline's amazing homemade jam. I've never stayed in a place with a jam menu before! The gardens are beautiful and available to guests to sit and relax. It really is a beautiful spot. On our final evening, we were tired & wanted to eat in. No problem. Our hosts provide a list of local take away places & then set the breakfast room for us to eat there. Amazing hospitality. Caroline goes above and beyond what you would expect. It's like staying with friends in a true home from home. Even their beloved dog Charlie, joins in to welcome guests. I can't recommend Byways highly enough. We will definitely be back. Thank you Caroline, Darren, and of course, Charlie for making my son's wedding weekend even more perfect. We couldn't have asked for more

Absolutely fabulous, wonderful friendly welcome from Caroline and Charlie (the dog ) Breakfast was one of the best we have had and plentiful. We stayed in the Egypt room which was spotlessly clean. you have a small fridge with fresh milk and filleted water, and if you need more just ask . Caroline could not do enough for us Warm and welcoming at all times. We only got to meet Darren on our second day again a very warm welcoming grating , we asked on food recordation's both spot on as well as where to park and go when we went into Knaresborough. We had our dog with us who enjoyed playing with Charlie and having the patio doors to the beautiful gardens was a bonus to us, we are all ready talking about our next trip here . The bed comfy , and loved the walk in shower, and a bonus lots of cooking apples for me to get busy making pies, chutney with. Would highly recommend. We feel like we have made 2 new friends. Thank you Caroline, Darren and Charlie for making our stay so enjoyable UPDATE This was our second visit to this lovely B&B situated in a small hamlet Flaxby about 3 miles out of Knaresborough. We received a lovely warm welcome from Caroline, Darren and Charlie the dog who was very happy to see us again and our dog Jess. Caroline is the perfect host, nothing was too much trouble and she always had time for a chat. We stayed in the Egypt room on the ground floor with patio doors which Jess loves that she can go outside and enjoy the lovely garden and play with Charlie. Breakfast was again fantastic and love the homemade jam. Thank you again for a lovely stay and we are already looking forward to coming back next

We stayed in the Egypt Room for 3 nights and enjoyed every minute of our stay. The room was comfortable and clean, with a little fridge stocked with milk and filtered water. The patio doors looked out to the beautiful garden which I’m sure will be amazing in the summer. The breakfast was delicious with plenty choice and the breakfast crunch was amazing. Caroline is an excellent host and nothing is too much trouble, she came to my rescue with a needle & thread one evening as we were heading out to eat! Thanks again Caroline 🙂
