Really lovely campsite, in great location, nicely spaced pitches. Toilets and shower block great. Would definitely visit again. The only negative is noise from road, we were on pitch 27 which is pretty close, but it goes quiet about 11pm. The other negative was the bistro, very poorly run, very young staff that clearly didn't know what to do, the food was just average. Shame because it let's the site down.
Stayed on the touring park. Very peaceful. Bistro good, although on the few visits either didn’t have food advertised or had close the kitchen very early & couldnt get food. Toilet/shower block were not the cleanest, also lots of cobwebs that had clearly been there some time. Disappointed & left a day early.
Great site! We stayed in our camper van (Sept 2024), me, the wife, and our dog, and had a lovely time overall. Big pitch with a decent bit of space and an electric hook-up, though topping it up via a website felt a bit like trying to buy concert tickets in the early 2000s: fiddly and mildly rage-inducing. The site itself is spotless, well looked after, and clearly run by people who care. The location’s great too, peaceful, easy to get to, and ideal if you’re looking to switch off. It’s also dog-friendly, which is always a win for us. Ozzy (our dog) had a great time, and there was plenty of space for walks and chasing rabbits. Downsides? No campfires allowed which, for us, always takes away a bit of that authentic camping feel. And while this might not be a dealbreaker, we were easily the youngest people there by about 20–30 years. Nothing wrong with that, but it did feel like we’d accidentally parked in a mobile version of a garden centre café. Very “boomer central” energy. That said, everyone was polite, and we didn’t feel unwelcome, just slightly like we’d gatecrashed a Saga holiday. All in all, a great stay, clean, calm, and well-run. Just maybe bring a book instead of your party playlist.
Absolutely fantastic. A little gem. Pitch was a great size. Pitch 23. The toilets and showers are 5 star plus. The bar and restaurant is very good and reasonable priced. Definitely booking again. Thank you everyone.
Lovely site .. really characterful. But a few niggles .. shame the smaller field has too many pitches - with the size of caravans & cars this space feels too overwhelmed - lose 2 pitches & you’d get a 5 star. Toilets amazing but needs better ventilation - even walking in with glasses on met with condensation & you couldn’t see in mirrors .. sinks were poorly designed for kids to use .. no hot water for washing up. Bistro great to escape to.
