Newly opened under new ownership, which we are really pleased about as we have a caravan close by. We have been in a few times to watch rugby games as there is a big screen.... Happy husband. Good quiz on a Friday with a good atmospere. Always something on, entertainment, various food vans on salect dates - DOH pizza & fish & chips. Last week was a sausage and cider festival. The new owners are nice and friendly really seem to be giving it a go. They also have good price accommodation available to apparently (so we were told by a couple staying there on quiz night)
Stopped here on the way to primrose valley as we needed a toilet and drink stop, went into the pub and asked where the toilets were, the man behind the bar said they are for customers only, I said I'm going to buy a drink but I really need the toilet first, refused to let me use the toilet, so I didn't bother to buy anything, so rude! The place looked empty aswell, but I'm not surprised by the way the staff go on, would give it no stars if I could
Stayed at this gem 23/24 June with friends. We received a fantastically warm welcome from all the staff, from checking in to checking out. Rooms were large with a very comfortable bed, the food was delicious and good portions. Sara and Nick were the very best of hosts. We will definitely be returning soon. Well done guys !!!!!
We booked here for food and for the band on Saturday 7th to celebrate my mam (Shirley's) 60th birthday while visiting whitby. The landlady and staff were lovely and made us feel very welcome and made a big fuss of us. My mam said she had a fabulous time, and she danced the night away with everyone. Thank you so much for helping her make her birthday special! We will certainly be back! 100% recommend! 👌 xx
The staff were very friendly and service was good. The food unfortunately could have been better with an overcooked burger, veggie lasagna that seemed to be low on tomato sauce and a not so great curry. We did visit on the evening of a function so it was maybe an off day but do expect better quality food, shame really.
