My V70 is cool again! I was reluctant to use a local garage to sort out my air conditioning having failed to recharge at a so called ‘air con service centre’. I normally use a Volvo main agent for servicing but having the feeling they would be demanding £££££ for this so I opted to look for a garage that advertised as a repairer of this specialist bit of kit. Having read the reviews it appeared that everyone who used them was giving 5 star so I opted to give them a go. I’m glad I did. The owner fully explained the problems air con can throw up, how they go about diagnosing the problem and how they would fix it permanently once diagnosed. I felt I had every confidence in him and his ability to sort it. My decision proved correct. They diagnosed it within an hour, gave me a firm price and a few days later when the offending parts arrived they fixed it and it’s been fine ever since. Thank goodness with this hot spell. My bill was exactly what he said it would be, no “well it was a bit bla bla etc etc’. Full marks SAC - I’m glad I took notice of the good reviews, and was not put off by one bad one. You’ll always get someone with an issue - it’ll be a perfect world if you didn’t.
Went here on recommendation for the first time yesterday, for some urgent attention to the brakes. Despite being busy, they couldn’t have been more helpful. Steve went out of his way to get me back on the road as quickly as he could. Honest appraisal, fair price, and great service. Will definitely use in the future. Many thanks.
Don't take your car to these unless you want it damaged like they did with mine. Over a thousand pounds worth of damage done to passenger door. When confronted on it they denied it and went on to say they had proof it came in like that, absolute rubbish as I keep the car immediate and it having a massive dent on the door and damaged side skirt I'd definitely of noticed. They said they had video evidence as proof. When questioned how they proposed to let me see this so called evidence they said they would email me it or I could come down to view it. The following day I went to see it in person, the response and attitude towards me said it all they even said they had informed their insurance, when asked why their reply was, because your making a fraudulent claim ? Really i had never said anything whatsoever of telling them i was reporting it to my insurance, the reason why i went to see them was mearly to view the proof it came in like that. To say he's reported it to his insurance, to date I've heard absolutely nothing from his insurance which doesn't surprise me one bit. When I demand to him I want the so called evidence emailed to me so I could examine it properly, he adamantly refused making a pathetic excuse that he couldn't because it was in breach of data protection, what a pile of rubbish as it was my car, if anything it is themselves in breech of data protection by holding my information without my permission. When asked to see the so called evidence, he reluctantly showed me at a distance a picture of A DOOR making out look you can see the damage. There was absolutely no damage to the door as proof of this I took him outside to my car and made him view it from 50yds away even at that distance you could see the damage plain as day yet the photo he showed me had no damage show whatsoever. Swillington auto care, if your going to deny about damaging my car you should have thought to disconnect my dashcam especially when you test drove it, but we'll get to that bit later! Remember on the day the car was brought to you and you 1st reversed it so as to get it inside , you hit something and said F..KING HELL Yeah remember now do ya? The video even shows the whole car judder sideways. Now let me jog your memory when you test drove it on the Wednesday, you answered your mobile phone as you were sat in my car just as you were about to drive off from your premises. Instead of ending your call you chose to have a full conversation WHILST DRIVING (not hands free)THROUGH KIPPAX VILLAGE WITH NO SEATBELT ON AND SPEEDING reaching speeds of up to 68mph. Needless to say this has been forwarded to the police, so expect a visit from them. MY ADVICE TO ANYONE THINKING OF USING THIS GARAGE IS DONT as they don't value or respect your property nor the law.
Seem to have done a good job with the service and MOT but, I did ask for a quote on multiple occasions and never got one. Once when I called to book in and then again when I dropped the car off. I then asked if they could call and let me know how much it would be before they start which they didn't. So I then came back to a £305 bill which was a little more than I was expecting for a car that's only 5 years old. I don't know much about cars at all so wasn't in a position to query it plus the work had already been done but I was expecting it to be around the £200 mark so had a bit of a shock. Would have been fine if I'd had the call to say 'XYZ also need doing so you're looking at £X is that ok?' I'm sure they were just super busy but a basic cost beforehand or available on their website would have been ideal. I'm afraid this will stop me going to them in the future but I can't fault the work they did do.
This is the second time I have used SAC 1st time for a wheel bearing and service on my T5, and second for two drive shafts on my Berlingo. Even though on both occasion's they were very busy they managed to squeeze me in. Very polite, good service and good rates, explained what needed to be done and how much it was going to cost and stuck to it unlike some places. Certainly recommend them and wouldn't go anywhere else.
