Let's talk about this Pharmacy. They are frankly doing an incredible job. The staff are polite, efficient and somehow manage to remain remarkably professional, even when dealing with customers who act like a two day wait for prescriptions is like a violation of their human rights. Now, here's a wild idea, if your medication is so vital, maybe, just maybe you could order it before you run out? I know, I know, it's revolutionary thinking, but it turns out pharmacies aren't psychic. They ask for up to 72h, and they text you when it's ready. It's all very clear. But instead some people treat this like a hostage negotiation. "Why is it not ready? Because it's been ordered 5 minutes ago." And the the best part? Switching pharmacies is incredibly easy. App, GP, or walk into another pharmacy and just say the words "Please help", done. But based on the tone of some reviews, it sounds that this pharmacy would not just want them to leave, they were willing to help them pack. So maybe, instead of blaming pharmacy teams who are underfunded, overworked, and still nicer than most of us deserve, we could just say... thank you!
I want to give a big shout-out to Paolo at Tesco Pharmacy. He was extremely knowledgeable, professional, and genuinely kind throughout the whole process. He explained everything clearly, made me feel completely at ease, and went above and beyond to make sure I understood my prescription and felt confident with it. You can tell he really cares about his patients. Absolutely fantastic service — thank you!
I have flu and didn’t appreciate a full on interrogation of my symptoms by both members of staff just to buy some night nurse tablets. I went and bought elsewhere. Disgusting service and will never buy from this pharmacy again.
⭐ **If I could give minus 5 stars, I would.** My experience with this pharmacy has been consistently poor, but my most recent encounter left me shocked and deeply concerned. I spoke with a staff member named Cameron—though “spoken with” is generous, as I was constantly interrupted and talked over. He informed me that a prescription my GP had sent could not be filled. First, he claimed the items were out of stock. Then the reason changed to, “We’re too busy to fill repeat prescriptions as they come in.” I explained to him that I am recovering from a coma caused by an Asthma and COPD attack, which left me in respiratory failure. The medication in question is *essential* to keep me stable and out of the hospital. Cameron’s solution? He gave me a barcode and told me to try a different pharmacy. My husband took it to another chemist in Garforth, and they filled it within 20 minutes—no issue at all. Sadly, this isn’t the first time I’ve had problems here. On a previous occasion, NHS 111 had to call on my behalf to get an inhaler my GP had already prescribed. The pharmacy claimed they hadn’t received the prescription, but it was later found in their fridge. Another time, after being told by my GP’s office that a prescription had been sent two days earlier, I rang the pharmacy and was abruptly told, “We don’t have to fill prescriptions straight away. We can take up to 72 hours if we want.” The way this was said was rude and completely dismissive of my health needs. The worst experience was when my husband went to collect my medication as I was too unwell to go myself. He was met by an aggressive pharmacist who said, “Why do you even bother getting your prescriptions from here? I’ve read the review your wife left—you can go elsewhere.” This confrontation happened in front of our two adult sons. Thankfully, they stayed calm, despite the pharmacist creating a scene. We’ve repeatedly asked our GP not to send prescriptions here due to the consistently rude, abrupt, and unprofessional behaviour—but it still happens. I believe reviews are meant to help customers make informed choices and give businesses a chance to improve. But in this case, it seems honest feedback is met with retaliation and hostility. That’s not just bad customer service—it’s dangerous. Delaying or refusing critical medication, especially when other pharmacies are closed, is reckless. When you treat people who rely on essential meds with contempt simply because they’ve complained in the past, you’re playing Russian Roulette with lives. I hope no one else has to experience what we have. This pharmacy needs serious reflection and accountability before real harm is done.
I visited today as I had an insect bite that had turned infected and I was seen quickly by the pharmacist and prescribed Antibiotics and given advice. I went away very happy with the great service and avoided waiting to see a GP which would have meant it getting worse.
