Benchmark Cottage

Loved this cottage. Really homely and well equipped. Best thing was the Aga stove. Loved using it. Nice quiet, clean cottage. Nice garden. Lovely sun room. Enjoyed watching the birds on the feeder. Fabulous hosts.

Absolutely beautiful cottage in the middle of nature, nestled next to the River Esk. The owners surely have made the ‘Benchmark’ for all others to aspire to! My mobility isn’t great, so I didn’t do too much walking, but I didn’t miss out as I could watch the birds from the cosy sun room, whilst my hubby went off exploring. We loved it so much, we’re going again later in the year, weather permitting, the roads are narrow and winding, can’t imagine what it would be like in the snow.

Benchmark is a wonderful cottage with lovely & friendly hosts, in a peaceful area, we found the cottage spotless & with everything that you need. We enjoyed watching the birds on the feeders, looking forward to visiting next year.

A real gem of a cottage both inside and out with really nice sitting out areas to watch the wildlife. Really well situated for the coast and the moors and a lovely owner. Look forward to coming back again soon.
