Ordered my drink and waited for several minutes whilst 3 staff stood talking, had to ask if anyone was making my drink. Whilst sitting in and having my drink 3 customers waited over 5 minutes to get served whilst 2 staff dealt with drive thru orders and a blonde haired woman just moped the floor, looked at the queue of waiting customers, didnt even acknowledge them with a "hello" just completely ignored them and continued to mop then went out to the back mopping the floor out there. Such terrible customer service, I won't be back
Today I just left Starbucks at Waterloo Station after waiting enough time to realise that customer after customer who came after me was being served their orders. When I realise that the man calling the orders was moving away I said excuse me but by then Mr. Imiatz who was fully emersed in whatever was going on in his private mobile phone could not hear me and therefore didn't even looked at me. I tapped on the counter to get his attention. This actually worked because he immediately looked at me and put the phone back on his pocket. It turned out that the girl taking the orders forgot to put mine forward. However what happened after, was simply inexcusable. Mr. Imiatz started shouting at me because in his view "I was very rude" since "he is not my waiter" and again I quote "it is not a way to call the person". Again he moved away after saying that. In a calm boice I emmidiately asked him to return to me and told him that I had indeed said excuse me and he was the one who shouldn't be using his personal phone on the shop's food preparing area since he clearly couldn't even hear me. That on its on was bad enough because I really prefer to know that my food is handled by hygienic hands and not see a person fiddling with his phone, pockets, with bare hands and think that is ok to handle customer's food. To make matters worst he started shouting to is colleagues 'don't give her food, I'm the manager here and I am not going to serve you". I told him twice: Do not raise your voice at me but he was clearly very confused as to what his "Manager" status allows him to do. At this point the cashier came and interrupted him, she did apologise twice and said that she was going to serve me instead. I appreciate her being reasonable and I can accept the fact that she perhaps simply forgot about my drink (that was not the issue and I have no intention to complain about the girl. I can accept a normal human mistake). What I cannot accept is having a grown man thinking that it is ok to shout at me, simply because he felt embarrassed by a situation that he himself caused. I find this individual totally disgraceful. I am going to call Starbucks Head Office, of course and complaint about the treatment there but I just thought I should relate my experience here as well.
The staff made us feel incredibly weird yesterday around 3 / 4 pm. We went in and waited over 15 minutes for anyone to offer to take our order before we just put the items we’ve picked up down and walked out without purchasing a coffee. The thing is - they didn’t even acknowledge us but let alone say “be with you in one minute” or anything. It was so bizarre. They only seemed interested in the drive thru customers, not with any urgency mind you. Maybe they were understaffed? Anyway, we watched cars come and go as we stood at the counter. The other customers seemed equally confused, no one knew who’d paid or ordered or hadn’t ordered or paid. It was truly weird. But the baristas just kept floating past us going into the back, making drinks for drive thru customers, and the odd in-store drink. It was such an uncomfortable atmosphere I started messing about with a “pick a red tipped stick for 50p - win a free drink “ kit they had at the front. I pulled the red stick out first thing - after ages the woman behind the counter said “ ok what do you want then “ and I tried to start placing our complete order, or shift towards the till but she just blanked us. They made our free “drink” then went back to ignoring us. Never offering to make it in the glass cup I was holding to purchase. Never asking if we planted to place an order. So after 5 more minutes we just left and went to another location on our route. Never in my life have I experienced anything so awkward in a place of business.
Absolutely abysmal service. On multiple occasions I’ve visited this branch to find 3 members of staff behind the counter, with no interest in actually serving me. There’s only ever been a few customers actually in the shop and I’ve had to ask for a member of staff to take my order each time. I’d understand this if it were busy, but it’s not. Such poor service, it’s genuinely shocking. Do you want the business or not? Do not give this place your money. It’s expensive enough as it is, and they could not care less about the customer.
Stopped off on the way home from a family holiday as it was at the halfway point of our journey. Unfortunately it was the worst Starbucks I’ve ever had and we’ve had a fair few. The hot chocolate and mocha were both made with what must have been just a pinch of chocolate powder. It tasted so watered down that neither me nor the wife could drink more than half of it. Disappointing given the price. With a long 2nd half of our journey it was bitterly disappointing. I’m just glad my local ones are much better.
