Congratulations on the refurbishment, absolutely amazing. Myself and my wife had a meal on Tuesday 18/11/25 , and it was absolutely amazing. AT last, a restaurant that treats it's customers with courtesy, like customers used to be treated back in the day, not like cattle. The service was second to none, the staff are absolutely brilliant, tentative, friendly, and extremely helpful and very professional. It was very obvious that the chef is extremely professional, due to the high quality of the food😀. Cooked to perfection, served on time and hot. There sell a plethora of drinks at reasonable prices AND the food is reasonably priced also. The menu was just right, with a great choice to choose from. It's also the little things that impress, scented wc's with little hand towels to dry your hands on, bottled water out out on the table, cutlery set out on the table. An absolute quiet, inviting and friendly atmosphere. We are extremely impressed. I cannot recommend it enough.. 100% / 100%. Thank you Wainstones for a wonderful evening😊. My only negative comment is :- The carpark could do with lighting up on the night time.
One of the finest (standard) hotel rooms I've stayed in. Some of the other reviews for this hotel are negative, but they're written by people who look into these too much or just can't afford to stay here. This place is brilliant. My only feedback is that the shower in the room isn't as aesthetically pleasing as it looks but this place is amazing. Its cosy and comfortable, and it was a great night's sleep for under £80. The cafe, the bar, the parking, the convenience, the location, the welcoming staff - everyone wanted to help and nothing was too hard an ask. Smart TVs, coffee machine, the aroma as you walk into the room, the comfortable bed - brilliant!
Lovely place and team but the French toast was shocking. It was a small slice of what looked like budget supermarket basic white bread. For £8 or something, I expected something nicer. They've got lovely bread they pair with soup- if this was used for the French toast, that would have been amazing. Ive seen a similar cut used in a place in Manchester and that was fantastic. I was expecting something like you would get at Côte Brasserie, when you see the the appearance of the establishment but the slice i got was like something I would expect in a road side cafe
Excellent from start to finish. Rooms all named after dogs we stayed in vader. Very high standard with dog beds and treats included. High quality shower gel and hand wash. Room smelt amazing. Food all ingredients high quality cooked to perfection with good selection of drinks to compliment. Staff very friendly and helpful.
Another amazing “coffee and cake” visit to the beautiful Stones café. The treat this week was a festive Mince Pie Cake, which was delicious and topped off the Christmassy atmosphere - check out the huuge wreaths on front of the hotel as you enter. As always, the staff cannot do enough to make you feel welcome - thanks to Amanda, Roann and Emma for being great attentive hosts!
